Chapter 96
Chloe Valentine felt a spark of anger at being ignored.
She turned to Adrian Sinclair, her voice softening.
"Adrian, let's have dinner together. I want to have dinner with you."
Anna Ross felt uncomfortable at the mention of dinner.
She just wanted to get away quickly and find Mia Lawrence.
"No, I have things to do. I'll take you back first." Adrian's tone was flat, offering no extra words.
The car came to a smooth stop. The driver spoke up. "Young Master, we're here."
The driver got out to retrieve Chloe's luggage.
Chloe saw it was the residence her parents had arranged.
She was unwilling to accept that Adrian was really just dropping her off.
"You go in first." Adrian looked tired.
Even though she was reluctant, Chloe could only agree obediently.
"Alright. But you must come see me later!"
Adrian didn't look at her, giving a faint "Mmm."
Before leaving, she shot Anna a fierce glare, her eyes full of jealousy.
After Chloe left, Anna breathed a sigh of relief.
Adrian's voice suddenly came from behind her.
"Do you have a place to stay?"
"Yes, I've arranged to stay with Mia." Anna answered immediately.
A key suddenly flew into her hand.
She turned around, confused.
Adrian's expression was blank.
"Go stay at the Bay Area."
The Bay Area?
Anna repeated the name silently. It sounded expensive.
She held the key out to return it.
"No, thank you. I really have a place to stay."
Adrian glanced coldly at the key but didn't take it.
"You're my Executive Assistant now. You came to New York with me. If something happens, it involves me. I don't want trouble."
He didn't give her a chance to argue, pushing the door open and getting out.
He instructed the driver. "Take her there."
"Yes, Young Master."
The driver immediately started the car.
Anna watched his figure standing in the night through the rearview mirror.
She gripped the key tightly, her heart stirring slightly, reminded of the past.
Her phone ringtone interrupted her thoughts. It was a call from Mia Lawrence.
She quickly answered. "Mia, I'm in New York."
"Great! Come find me at Hongkang Huafu directly."
Anna happily agreed and said to the driver, "Sir, please go to Hongkang Huafu."
"Okay."
The car arrived quickly.
Anna got out with her suitcase.
Mia rushed over and hugged her. "Anna! So happy to see you! Come on, let's get something to eat!"
"Okay!" Anna was rarely this happy.
The two walked into the restaurant laughing and talking.
