Chapter 160

Chloe Valentine stomped her foot in frustration.

But after calming down, she realized her mother's words made sense.

She bit her lip unwillingly. "Mom, what should I do to make him change his mind?"

Lydia Valentine sighed softly and took her daughter's hand. "You're usually so clever. Why are you being so dense now?"

"You need to keep Adrian Sinclair steady."

"As for that little Executive Assistant..." A shrewd glint flashed in her eyes. "Find a way to make her leave the company."

"If they never see each other, they won't have a chance to develop feelings."

"Right!" Chloe's eyes lit up, and a smile spread across her lips. "Mom, help me think of a plan. I don't want to see her for one more day!"

She admired her newly done crystal manicure.

But her gaze was as cold as ice.

Anna Ross, this time I will make sure you disappear from his sight forever.

Meanwhile, Anna Ross dragged her heavy feet back home.

She felt completely drained, even her emotions had gone numb.

Sophia Roscente was curled on the couch, eating snacks and watching a series.

Hearing the door open, she immediately jumped up. "You're back! Look at the snacks I bought. They're all your favorites!"

Anna glanced at the snack bags piled on the coffee table.

She just nodded faintly, showing no reaction.

Sophia noticed something was wrong and moved closer with concern. "What's wrong? You look upset."

They sat on the sofa together.

Anna leaned against the cushion like a lifeless doll, not moving at all.

Sophia immediately guessed the reason.

She puffed her cheeks indignantly. "Did my brother make you angry again? He has such low emotional intelligence. Don't take it to heart."

Anna was slightly stunned by her words.

Sophia handed her a bag of chips and lowered her voice mysteriously. "Let me tell you a secret."

"Don't be fooled by how cold he acts now. He was in a relationship during college."

She watched Anna's expression carefully before continuing. "After the breakup, he completely fell apart."

"It was like he couldn't live without that girl. He locked himself in his room all day. He wouldn't eat, drink, or speak."

Anna's fingers trembled.

She never realized she had hurt him so deeply back then.

It was her fault...

"How... how did he eventually move on?" she asked softly.

Sophia chuckled. "He never moved on! It became his biggest obsession."

She gave Anna a meaningful glance. "It takes the one who tied the knot to untie it. Probably only you can help him let go."

"What?" Anna looked up sharply.

What did that mean?

Did Sophia already know she was that person from his past?

But she had never revealed any clues.

How could Sophia know?

Sophia continued eating snacks nonchalantly, contrasting sharply with Anna's shocked expression.

"I've never been in a relationship, but I understand this much."

Anna clenched the corner of her clothes.

Finally, she asked the question swirling in her mind. "Did... did he tell you?"
