Chapter 346

The phone line was eerily silent.

Anna Ross called out softly, "Mia? Are you still there?"

Had the shock been too much for her friend?

"Ahhhโ€”I'm done for! Completely done!"

A sharp scream suddenly exploded through the speaker.

Anna's eardrums stung. She quickly pulled the phone away from her ear.

Mia Lawrence was hopping with anxiety.

She grabbed her phone in regret.

The screen lit up.

Julian Garnache's chat window was filled with unread messages.

Her tears streamed down instantly.

"Anna, I'm totally finished, wuwuwuโ€ฆ" Mia's voice came through, choked with sobs.

Anna's heart tightened. "What exactly happened? Don't panic, explain slowly."

Mia sniffled. "Julian sent me so many messages. I didn't reply to a single oneโ€ฆ He must be furious now."

If only she had known that girl was just his cousin. She would never have given him the silent treatment out of spite.

Anna was about to speak.

Mia suddenly cut her off. "No! I have to go find him and explain right now!"

The call ended abruptly.

Anna looked at the darkened screen and shook her head helplessly.

Her friend was always so impulsive. It was truly worrying.

Anna pushed open her apartment door.

Sophia Roscente was busy organizing her belongings.

Seeing Anna return, she called out while holding a stack of books, "You're back, sis?"

Anna acknowledged and set down her bag. "Are you moving out?"

Sophia carried the books into her room and came over with a smile. "Just packing my luggage early. I have to go back to school soon."

"So soon?" Anna was surprised.

Sophia nodded, flipping through her textbook. "There's actually still some time, but I'm afraid I'll be too busy having fun to pack later."

She hadn't brought much luggage when she arrived, but she had bought quite a few books.

A tinge of reluctance stirred in Anna's heart.

Sophia noticed her mood. Her sister had seemed unhappy lately. Was it because of her cousin?

"Don't worry, sis. Even when I'm at school, I'll come back to stay often." Sophia took her hand, giving a sincere promise.

Anna smiled. "Okay, you're always welcome."

They chatted for a few more minutes before Anna went to wash up.

Work had been relatively light recently.

Anna found things manageable under Howard Lowell.

But her colleagues often asked for her help.

Sure enough, the colleague beside her asked her to help retrieve some materials.

They went to the supply room.

After the person in charge finished counting the items, Anna was about to carry things away when she was stopped.

"Could you please deliver this document to the Creative Department for me?"

A stack of papers was shoved into her hands. Before she could answer, the person clutched their stomach and rushed toward the restroom.

Anna had no choice but to put down the items and head to the Creative Department.

Just as she reached the doorway, she overheard passing employees discussing something.

Her steps halted.
