Chapter 407

He had loved her for so long.

Yet now, she kept him at a distance.

He truly was a failure.

"You're right. That's exactly who I am." He let out a cold laugh. "But aren't you the same? You adore Adrian Sinclair, yet he doesn't even glance your way."

Chloe Valentine nearly screamed.

She bit her lip hard, struggling to control her expression.

"He will be mine eventually. If you truly care for Anna Ross, you'd better keep a close eye on her. I will stop at nothing to get what I want."

She shot him a look of utter disdain.

Grabbing her purse, she strode away quickly in her high heels.

Staying any longer would have driven her insane.

Lucas Evans watched her retreating figure.

Her words echoed relentlessly in his mind.

Was he really that incompetent?

Unable to hold onto the person he loved.

Letting others take her away so easily.

What should he do?

......

Anna Ross and Adrian Sinclair arrived at the restaurant.

She glanced up at the signโ€”Tarot.

A restaurant with a royal aesthetic.

It clearly cost a fortune.

Adrian parked the car and walked over.

A waiter approached, bowing respectfully.

"Mr. Sinclair, Mr. Mark Anderson is already waiting inside. Please allow me to show you the way."

The waiter gestured for them to enter.

Adrian stepped inside.

Anna followed quietly behind.

They were led to a private room.

It was spacious and luxurious.

At the far end of the long table sat a man with Western features.

His eyes were a pale blue.

His skin was fair.

He had deep-set eyes and a tall, straight nose.

What a refined man, Anna thought to herself.

Mark rose from his chair.

He smiled as he approached them.

"Hello, Mr. Sinclair. It's been a while."

Adrian offered a faint smile.

Anna observed quietly.

The man was handsome.

But he still paled in comparison to Adrian.

Mark's gaze shifted from Adrian's face.

It settled on Anna's.

His light blue eyes flickered.

A look of profound surprise appeared.

"Wow, who is this beautiful lady?" He looked directly at Adrian. "Mr. Sinclair, is this your new girlfriend?"

Adrian remained silent.

He pulled out a chair and sat down.

Mark raised an eyebrow, his eyes still on Anna.

Since she wasn't this man's girlfriend.

He could openly express his admiration.

"Beautiful lady, would you care to join me for dinner?" He moved closer, his arm beginning to encircle her waist.

Anna disliked such forwardness.

She stepped back, responding in a foreign language. "I'm sorry, I need to use the restroom."

Not daring to delay, she hurried away.

A waiter immediately stepped forward to guide her.

Adrian's eyes shifted slightly, glancing back.

Mark watched her graceful figure with deep interest.

A wide smile spread across his face.

It had been a long time since he encountered such a captivating woman.

She had genuinely piqued his interest.

"Mr. Sinclair, what is that girl's name? She's truly stunning." He stroked his chin, dragging a chair closer to sit down.

Hearing his frivolous tone, Adrian's expression darkened.

But he quickly composed himself, responding coolly. "She's not someone easily won over. I suggest you abandon that thought."
