Chapter 240

Howard Lowell looked at Adrian Sinclair with pleading eyes.

He moved closer.

"Adrian, help your uncle."

"Talk to your grandpa for me."

"I'm begging you."

Adrian's eyes turned cold.

He knew it was trouble from that one glance.

As expected, it was another plea for mercy.

He narrowed his eyes.

After a moment's thought, he turned to the old man.

"Grandpa, Uncle knows he was wrong."

"He won't do it again."

The old man glanced at his son.

Howard felt a secret thrill.

Though Adrian's words annoyed him.

They worked.

His move was correct.

"If I forgive too easily..."

"What will the branch office think?"

The old man still hesitated.

Howard looked at Adrian again.

The other man paused before continuing.

"The branch office situation can still be salvaged."

Surprise flashed in the old man's eyes.

His expression softened considerably.

"Really?"

"That's wonderful."

"Adrian, Grandpa wasn't wrong about you."

Adrian smiled faintly.

No extra emotion.

The old man looked at Howard.

"Stay for dinner today."

Howard nodded repeatedly.

But he felt very unwilling.

He was the one who got scolded.

Yet that guy came out looking better.

Anna Ross walked with her mother in the backyard.

A servant came to invite them to dinner.

Vivian Lowell smiled and pulled her along.

Everyone was already seated in the dining room.

The old man sat at the head of the table.

Adrian and Howard sat on either side.

Anna and her mother sat next to Howard.

Once everyone was present, the old man spoke.

"Let's eat."

No one spoke at the table.

Anna ate quietly.

The atmosphere was somewhat oppressive.

She looked up to get food and met Adrian's gaze.

She froze.

Howard suddenly spoke.

"Dad, Anna just arrived here."

"I hope you'll look after her."

Anna glanced at him in surprise.

He never said things like that.

Suddenly pushing her into the spotlight.

He definitely had an agenda.

The old man glanced at her.

His eyes clearly showed dislike.

Howard quickly signaled with his eyes.

Anna spoke obediently.

"Grandpa, I haven't visited you until now."

"Please forgive me."

"It's fine."

"There's nothing interesting about an old man like me."

Mr. Lowell responded.

He continued eating.

Clearly uninterested in her.

Anna lowered her eyes awkwardly.

She had expected this outcome.

Not liked from the first meeting.

Especially since she wasn't biologically related.

Adrian watched her quietly.

A trace of heartache appeared in his eyes.

He turned to the old man with a faint smile.

"Grandpa, Cousin is very outstanding."

"Her work abilities are also exceptional."

"That is undeniable."

Anna looked up, stunned.

Her heart fluttered slightly.
