Chapter 173
Sophia Roscente's cheeks flushed pink.
She looked down, fidgeting with the corner of her shirt.
"When feelings are right, you just end up together."
Her voice was soft and light, carrying the unique shyness of a young girl.
Anna Ross understood everything just by looking at her.
This girl had probably been involved with Marcus Hill for a while, only confessing now.
But children grow up. They always develop their own ideas.
"Alright, I won't tease you anymore." Anna smiled gently and walked over to sit on the sofa.
She had been standing and talking for too long. Her legs felt a bit numb.
Sophia pouted and scooted closer.
Her sister was so much easier to talk to.
Not like her cousin, always stern-faced and controlling.
Just thinking about Adrian Sinclair's cold demeanor made her angry.
She sat down next to Anna, grabbing her hand and shaking it.
"Sister, you have to put in a good word for me in front of my cousin."
"Best if you can make him stop meddling in my affairs. Otherwise, I'm really doomed!"
Anna shook her head helplessly.
This girl overestimated her influence.
"Sophia, it's not that I won't help you," she said softly.
"How could Adrian possibly listen to me? He meddles because he cares about you."
Her voice gradually trailed off towards the end.
There was a time when he had cherished her, holding her in the palm of his hand.
But now, things had changed. Everything was different, and nothing could go back to how it was.
Yet she had no regrets.
Even if given another chance, she would make the same choice.
"Sister, please help me!" Sophia pleaded earnestly, making a solemn promise.
"My cousin will definitely listen to you! As long as you speak, he will agree!"
Anna was amused by her.
The young girl had no idea about the history and grudges between them.
Seeing Anna's expression soften, Sophia pressed her advantage.
She put on a pitiful face.
"If my mom finds out about this, I'm dead. Sister, could you bear to see such a cute little treasure like me suffer?"
Anna couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Having this girl around certainly made life more lively.
But she was truly powerless to help.
In the past, perhaps she could have said a few words.
But now... she couldn't think of any reason why Adrian would listen to her.

Outside the restaurant.
Marcus Hill followed closely behind Adrian Sinclair, glancing back occasionally.
His friend was always cold and stern, but his anger now was especially intimidating.
Even Marcus felt a chill down his spine.
He really didn't know how Anna usually endured this cold severity.
Just thinking about it made his scalp prickle.
Lost in thought, Adrian suddenly stopped walking.
His sharp gaze swept over.
Marcus forced a dry laugh. "Adrian, between brothers, we don't need to be like this, right?"
If it really came to a fight, he definitely wouldn't fight back.
But remembering the intensity Adrian showed during workouts, his legs still felt weak.
Adrian's expression was cold and severe.
Seeing Marcus still grinning without any intention of giving a serious explanation, he let out a cold laugh.
"No one else is here now. Speak. What's going on?"
Marcus breathed a sigh of relief.
"I like Sophia. I was attracted to her back in San Francisco."
"I wanted to tell you earlier, but I never found the right opportunity."
He looked towards the lovely figure inside the restaurant, making a solemn promise.
"Adrian, I'm serious. I will treat her well. Otherwise, may I be struck by lightning!"
"Who asked you to swear?" Adrian interrupted impatiently.
