Chapter 435

Chloe Valentine was startled by his sudden question.

She did have ulterior motives for ordering so much alcohol.

But she couldn't let him see through her.

"Adrian, it's fine."

"You rarely come out with me."

"Just a little drink."

"We can always call the driver later."

She smiled while pouring the wine.

She handed the glass to him.

Adrian Sinclair frowned.

His gaze shifted to the stage.

He had to admit.

She looked captivating while singing.

She poured genuine emotion into her performance.

That's why she shone so brightly.

As he kept thinking.

A faint smile unconsciously appeared on his lips.

Chloe caught that smile instantly.

She glared resentfully at the person on stage.

Almost biting her lip in frustration.

This was simply handing victory to someone else!

She never should have brought him here.

But he never liked going out.

Backing out now would only anger him.

Just as she fumed.

A familiar figure entered through the door.

She looked closer.

It was Lucas Evans.

Chloe glanced at him.

Then back at the stage.

A plan suddenly formed in her mind.

She put down her glass.

Leaned close to Adrian's ear.

"Adrian, wait for me."

"I'm going to the restroom."

Adrian gave an absent-minded hum.

Seemingly indifferent to her whereabouts.

Chloe suppressed her anger.

Stood up and melted into the crowd.

Lucas saw the figure on stage.

His anxious heart finally settled.

During his nap, he had a nightmare.

He dreamed she kept drifting away.

No matter how he reached out.

He couldn't grasp her.

His heart ached terribly in that moment.

So much it made him sweat all over.

After waking, he wanted to message her.

But feared she wouldn't answer.

So he came straight to the bar.

He knew she would be here.

"Mr. Evans, I didn't expect to see you at a bar?"

Chloe had already reached his side.

Following his gaze.

He was watching Anna Ross.

She almost laughed at the sight.

What was wrong with these men?

Each one bewitched by her.

Lucas showed no reaction.

As if he hadn't heard her.

He simply watched the stage quietly.

As if it held his entire world.

Chloe's expression shifted.

She spoke again.

"Mr. Evans, Executive Assistant Ross won't finish for a while."

"Shall we sit and talk?"

Lucas finally looked down at her.

He walked to the sofa and sat.

"What did you want to say, Miss Valentine?"

"Aren't we a bit unfamiliar for that?"

A server passed by.

He took a glass of wine.

Drank it unhurriedly.

Chloe watched for a few seconds.

Smiled and walked over to sit.

She had to admit Lucas was handsome.

Though not quite as striking as Adrian.

Still far superior to most men.

"Mr. Evans, unfamiliarity can change with time."

"Talking more will make us familiar."

Chloe sat close to him.

Picked up her glass and took a small sip.

She normally avoided people who liked Anna Ross.

But he still had use for her now.

She didn't mind playing along for a while.
