Chapter 490
It had been quite some time since they last met.
Anna Ross picked up her shopping bag to leave when something slipped out of her purse.
It was the lipstick Adrian Sinclair had given her.
She had tossed it into her bag last time and forgotten to take it out.
She bent down to pick it up, staring at the exquisite gift box.
She remembered the expression on his face when he shoved the present into her hands.
Stubborn, with a touch of awkwardness.
Vivian Lowell heard her prolonged silence and asked softly, "Anna, is everything alright?"
"Everything's fine, Mom. My ride is here. I have to go." Anna placed the gift box on the entryway console.
She ended the call and glanced out the window again.
The rain showed no sign of letting up.
Without an umbrella, she would be drenched the moment she stepped out of the car.
She turned back and grabbed an umbrella.
Noticing Noah Watson's missed call on her phone, she immediately called back.
The moment the call connected, a panicked voice came through. "Executive Assistant Ross, you finally called back! I think Mr. Sinclair is missing!"
Anna's heart clenched.
She thought he was joking and forced herself to sound calm. "Stop joking. How could a grown man like Adrian Sinclair just disappear?"
Noah was so flustered he could barely speak coherently, raising his voice. "I'm not lying! I thought he had business and didn't come to the company this morning."
"But when I called later, no one answered!"
"You know he always informs me when he's traveling or going out, so I can adjust his meeting schedule. But today, there was no message at all!" Noah was practically spinning with anxiety.
He began to blame himself. He shouldn't have let him stay alone that night. He should have stayed with him no matter what.
Before he could finish, the call was disconnected.
Noah anxiously thought for a moment, then grabbed his jacket and rushed to the company.
Anna hung her clothes back in the wardrobe.
Without caring about anything else, she repeatedly called Adrian's number.
No one answered.
She gradually began to panic.
She then contacted Sophia Roscente, hoping to get information through Marcus Hill.
Weren't they good friends? Maybe he knew something.
But it was as if everyone had agreed not to answer her calls.
Anna tightened her grip on the umbrella and hurried downstairs.
She decided to go to the company first. Perhaps he had already returned.
When she arrived at the company, she ran into Noah, who was rushing downstairs.
Noah seemed to understand why she was there and shook his head with a grim expression.
Anna was still catching her breath.
Seeing that Noah had a car, she immediately said, "Assistant Watson, please drive."
"Okay." The other party didn't dare delay and quickly ran to the driver's seat.
Anna got into the car, fastening her seatbelt as she asked, "Does the Lowell family know about this?"
Noah sighed. "Probably not. Actually, Mr. Sinclair was in a very strange mood that night. I'm mainly worried he might do something reckless."
He glanced at the person beside him, swallowing back many questions.
Anna vaguely guessed the reason, a sense of unease rising within her. "Do you know the places he often goes to when he's in a bad mood?"
"Well..." Noah scratched his head in thought, then suddenly his eyes lit up. "I know! Let's hurry there and check!"
