Chapter 63

Anna Ross was lost in thought.

Her phone rang abruptly.

The sound echoed sharply through the empty hall.

She frantically sat down and reached for her phone.

The more she rushed, the more flustered she became.

Her phone was stubbornly stuck inside her bag.

Adrian Sinclair listened to the incessant ringing.

He noticed a figure moving in the distance.

He walked over.

"What are you doing here?"

Anna had just managed to grab her phone.

Adrian was already standing before her.

His gaze was scrutinizing.

He put his own phone away.

He studied her leisurely.

Anna clutched her phone tightly.

Her fingertips turned pale.

If he discovered she had been spying, she didn't know how he would mock her.

She stammered, unable to form words.

Adrian raised an eyebrow.

"I asked you to come to work."

"Are you hiding here to slack off?"

"Is this your work ethic?"

Anna quickly looked up.

"That's not it."

"I was afraid of disturbing you."

Adrian narrowed his eyes.

He slipped his phone back into his pocket.

He stared down at her, as if trying to see through something.

Anna nervously avoided his gaze.

"It's still early."

"I thought you were still asleep."

"So I waited here."

She didn't even believe her own words.

But she absolutely couldn't let him know she had just witnessed his intimacy with someone else.

Adrian scoffed lightly.

"You think everyone is like you?"

"Sleeping until noon?"

"Follow me."

He turned and walked away quickly.

Anna hurried after him.

Inside the car.

Adrian handed her a file.

"The client we're meeting today."

Anna took the documents.

What project required his personal attention?

She then remembered she was just an Executive Assistant.

Her job was to focus on her own tasks.

By the time she finished reviewing the materials, the car had stopped.

They were in front of an upscale restaurant.

It was so luxurious it felt intimidating.

A single meal here could cost half a year of her salary.

Anna's eyes dimmed.

The private room door was pushed open.

Adrian walked straight in.

Mr. Klein immediately stood up and extended his hand.

"Mr. Sinclair, I've heard so much about you."

The others rose to their feet as well.

Adrian wore a rare smile.

Though it didn't reach his eyes.

He still shook hands politely.

Their fingers barely touched before pulling away.

Mr. Klein awkwardly retracted his hand.

"Mr. Sinclair, please have a seat."
