Anna Ross's heart raced.

The chaotic scene before her was the perfect chance to escape.

She didn't believe Adrian Sinclair would abandon the beauty in his arms to chase after her.

She grabbed her suitcase and turned to run.

Adrian's eyes turned cold as he tried to pursue her.

But Chloe Valentine clung desperately to his arm.

Anna rushed out of the hotel without looking back.

She quickly hailed a taxi.

"To Bay Area, San Francisco, please!"

She finally breathed a sigh of relief as the car door closed.

She took out her phone and made a call.

"Mia, I'll be there soon."

The taxi soon arrived at the residential area.

Mia Lawrence was already waiting at the entrance.

"Anna!" She waved excitedly and ran over.

"Why did it take you so long to get here?"

Anna shook her head helplessly.

"Adrian stopped me. I almost couldn't make it."

Mia's eyes widened.

"He's causing trouble for you again?"

Anna smiled bitterly. "It's a long story."

The two carried the luggage upstairs.

The new apartment was decorated in a simple and stylish manner.

Anna fell in love with the place at first sight.

As she was unpacking, Mia moved closer.

"Anna, can you do me a favor?"

Anna nodded. "Just tell me what it is."

A sly smile appeared on Mia's face.

"My parents are forcing me to go on a blind date."

"Can you go in my place?"

Anna froze.

"Can someone else go on a blind date for you?"

Mia clasped her hands together pleadingly.

"Just this one time!"

Anna quickly shook her head.

"That's too ridiculous."

Mia hugged her arm and whined.

"Please, Anna."

"You're the only one who can help me."

Anna felt dizzy from all the shaking.

She finally sighed in resignation and gave in.

"Alright, just this once."
