Chapter 453
Anna Ross had no other choice.
She followed Sophia Roscente into the car.
The car drove all the way back to the Sinclair Manor.
As soon as they got out of the car, Sophia excitedly grabbed her hand and pulled her inside.
She completely ignored Adrian Sinclair behind them.
"Anna, did you know?"
"Today, my mom cooked everything herself."
"She specifically bought so many dishes you love."
Sophia chattered nonstop.
Her tone was full of excitement.
While they were talking, they had already entered the living room.
Cecilia Roscente had been waiting on the sofa for a long time.
"Anna and Adrian are here."
"Come quickly, let's eat."
Cecilia put down the book in her hands and stood up to greet them.
A gentle smile graced her face.
Anna felt overwhelmingly flattered.
Cecilia's enthusiasm left her at a loss.
At that moment, Sophia spread her arms to hug her mother.
But Cecilia bypassed her completely.
She took Anna's hand instead.
"Anna."
"We didn't get to chat properly at the last birthday party."
"You must stay longer today."
Anna was flustered by this sudden warmth.
She could only manage a strained smile.
"Mom!"
"Why aren't you paying any attention to me?"
Sophia pouted, pretending to be angry.
But a mischievous glint shone in her eyes.
She sneakily glanced at her cousin, who was being ignored.
The corners of her mouth twitched upward.
"Cousin."
"Why do you think Mom likes Anna so much?"
She leaned closer to Adrian and whispered.
Adrian gave her a cool glance.
"Does liking someone need a reason?"
Sophia dramatically covered her mouth.
Her eyes widened in surprise.
Her iceberg of a cousin actually said something like that.
It was truly unbelievable.
On the other side, Cecilia had already led Anna to the dining table.
She kept serving her food and filling her bowl with soup.
The food in her bowl piled up like a small mountain.
Anna quickly picked up her bowl to thank her.
"Aunt Cecilia, this is really enough."
"You should eat too."
She looked at the overflowing bowl with some helplessness.
Cecilia's enthusiasm was simply too much to handle.
Adrian watched the restrained young woman across from him.
The corners of his lips lifted unconsciously.
She was so sharp-tongued when arguing with him.
Now she was as docile as a kitten.
Cecilia happened to look up.
She caught the gentle look in her nephew's eyes.
Her heart swelled with relief.
It had been a long time since he smiled like that.
Not since that breakup and his mother's passing.
"Adrian."
"Take good care of Anna at the company."
Cecilia suddenly got up to fetch drinks.
Leaving behind these meaningful words.
Anna almost choked on her food.
She looked up and directly met Adrian's deep gaze.
That really made her cough.
Cecilia hurriedly handed her a drink.
Gently patting her back.
"Eat slowly."
"No one is rushing you."
Anna took several sips of the drink before she recovered.
"Executive Assistant Ross."
"What were you thinking about so deeply just now?"
Adrian ate his meal unhurriedly.
But his eyes held a teasing glint as they swept over her.
Instantly, all eyes at the table were on her.
Anna was stunned for a moment.
She forced a smile.
"Nothing."
"I just ate too quickly."
