Chapter 289

Mia Lawrence stood outside the coffee shop.

Her gaze was fixed on the man by the window through the glass.

Her steps halted, unable to move further.

Her companion nudged her arm gently. "Mia, what are you staring at?"

The companion followed her line of sight and immediately smiled. "No wonder you turned down everyone at the company who liked you. So this is your type."

Mia curved her lips upward.

She shoved the tour guide flag into her companion's hands. "Jingjing, please take the team to the hotel first. I'll catch up later."

Before the other could respond, she had already turned and rushed toward the coffee shop.

She paused at the entrance, quickly smoothing her dress and hair.

She checked her makeup was perfect before pushing the door open.

Julian Garnache was about to make a call when he noticed someone approaching from the corner of his eye.

He looked up, slightly startled.

"Julian, what a coincidence." Mia feigned surprise, naturally taking the seat opposite him.

Her eyes swept over the other coffee cup on the table. Her heart skipped a beat.

Julian put away his phone and smiled. "Just met a friend. What brings you here?"

Mia stared at the cup with a lipstick stain, her mind wandering. A man as dazzling as him probably never lacked admirers.

"Mia?" Julian waved his hand gently before her eyes.

She snapped back to reality, forcing a smile. "Company team-building. Didn't expect to run into you."

She gestured for the server and ordered a latte.

"I see." Julian had planned to leave but now had to sit back down. He ordered another Americano.

Mia stole glances at his smiling eyes, her heart pounding wildly.

She could almost hear her own heartbeat.

Her gaze was glued to him, unable to look away.

This man, from head to toe, perfectly matched her ideal type, captivating her completely.

Julian noticed her stare and touched his cheek. "Is there something on my face?"

"No." The words burst out of her. "You're just so handsome. I can't help but stare."

Julian raised an eyebrow.

She immediately regretted it. She wanted to maintain a ladylike image, but her true nature slipped out again.

She hurriedly tried to recover. "What I meant was, outstanding people always attract attention..."

She wished she could bite her tongue off. Normally she was carefree, but why did she have to embarrass herself in front of her crush?

"You're adorable." Julian chuckled softly.

Mia froze. The men at the company always said they preferred gentle types. No one had ever called her adorable.

The server arrived with their coffee, interrupting her thoughts.
