Anna Ross forced a smile. "Alright. I'll head out now."

She looked up and met Adrian Sinclair's gaze directly.

Adrian's fingers twitched slightly, but he did not reach out.

Howard Lowell suddenly spoke. "Anna, aren't you going to say anything to your cousin?"

If she just left like this, wouldn't she be giving these two the chance to be alone?

She clearly wasn't taking his instructions seriously at all!

Anna stopped walking. She turned and saw Chloe Valentine clinging to Adrian's arm, shooting her a provocative look.

She was silent for a moment before speaking softly. "I have work to attend to."

Howard's face darkened. He glared at her with immense disappointment.

He exchanged a brief farewell with Adrian, then quickly caught up to Anna. He grabbed her wrist firmly. "Come with me!"

Adrian watched the figure being dragged away. The veins on the back of his hand bulged. His expression was terrifyingly dark.

Chloe observed his reaction, her heart aching sharply.

Even when she stood right beside him, did his eyes always only follow that woman?

Since the last incident, she had been treading carefully around him. Yet, he still didn't seem to see her.

"Adrian, I can ask my parents for help," she said. She still had leverage. Only she could assist him professionally.

Besides, she had the grandfather's favor. That was her winning ticket!

Adrian didn't even glance at her. "Unnecessary. This matter won't cause any real waves," he stated coldly.

He wanted to see what else that person could possibly try.

Howard pulled Anna into a corner, his face grim. "Is this how you always act around him?"

Anna turned her face away, unwilling to answer.

"It seems I've been too lenient with you. You're completely disregarding my words!" Howard snapped harshly.

Anna stopped walking, her nose stinging. "What thing you told me to do have I not done?"

If it weren't for him, she wouldn't have to witness all this. She could have stayed far away from that person, away from all these troubles. Instead, she had to watch him with someone else.

Howard snorted coldly. "It's not enough! I told you to sabotage their relationship. But from the looks of it, they're doing just fine!"

He moved closer to Anna, speaking through gritted teeth. "Will you only be satisfied once their wedding announcement comes out!?"

Anna bit her lower lip, remaining silent. Had she not done enough?

Howard glanced downstairs, his voice turning vicious. "Keep a close eye on them. Don't allow them any time alone. He must not gain the Valentine family's backing!"

Otherwise, all his plans would be ruined!

He didn't just want Adrian out of the Lowell Corporation. He wanted him to lose everything!
