Chapter 464

The temperature in New York dropped suddenly.

On her way home from the bar at night.

The cold wind was biting.

When she woke up this morning.

She felt a throbbing headache.

Fortunately, she didn't catch a cold.

Otherwise, she would have to ask for leave again.

"Anna, come here."

Howard Lowell appeared out of nowhere.

He knocked on her desk.

Anna Ross looked up.

Her expression darkened immediately upon seeing him.

Since their last meeting.

He rarely sought her out at the company.

His sudden appearance now.

Could not mean anything good.

She set down the file in her hand.

Followed him to the end of the hallway.

Colleagues were all busy working.

The hallway was empty and unusually quiet.

Howard lit a cigarette.

The smoke made her cough lightly.

He showed no consideration.

Continued blowing smoke rings.

"Anna, have you heard about that matter?"

Anna waved the smoke away.

Frowned and asked, "What matter?"

She had been swamped with trivial matters lately.

Had no time to pay attention to anything else.

Howard's brows furrowed deeply.

He turned to face her.

"My dear nephew."

"Fired Manager Patrick in this morning's meeting."

What?

Anna froze in place.

A look of surprise crossed her face.

She had no idea about this.

"It was a last-minute decision this morning."

"My nephew is really showing his power now."

Howard stubbed out his cigarette.

Spoke through gritted teeth.

The pleading look in Manager Patrick's eyes as he was dragged away.

Was still vivid in his memory.

All his original plans were ruined.

Adrian Sinclair always ruined his schemes.

Though surprised.

Anna felt a secret sense of relief.

She didn't know what Howard was plotting.

But that man's departure was always a good thing.

Howard studied her.

"You've been close to him recently."

"Why didn't you inform me beforehand?"

He asked her to keep an eye on him.

Was this how she did it?

The thought enraged him.

He wanted to take it out on Vivian again.

Hitting that foolish woman.

Always brought him the most satisfaction.

Anna's eyelashes fluttered slightly.

She responded calmly, "I didn't know."

Howard snorted coldly.

"Forget it."

"Keep a close watch on him from now on."

"Where he goes."

"What he does."

"Report everything."

He pressed his hand against the windowsill.

His gaze icy.

Anna was silent for a moment.

Her voice cool and clear.

"I'm rarely by his side these days."

He interrupted immediately.

"I want you to win him over."

"Don't forget I still have the account book."

"I can take it back anytime I'm in a bad mood."

Howard turned and left.

Anna looked out the window.

A light drizzle was falling.

Wetting the glass.

Sometimes she wished she could return to childhood.

Innocent and ignorant.

Not having to face all this with clear eyes.

Chloe Valentine approached carrying a paper bag.

Seeing her lost in thought alone.

She immediately walked over.

"Executive Assistant Ross, waiting for someone?"
