Chapter 427
Adrian Sinclair glanced sideways.
The arm tightly entwined with his made him uncomfortable.
He tried to pull his arm away.
"Chloe, it's too crowded."
Chloe Valentine only held on tighter.
She pouted playfully.
"I want to walk like this."
"We're engaged, after all."
Her gaze swept the surroundings.
It finally settled on Anna Ross.
Though jealous she could join the business trip.
Now it was her standing by his side.
Anna could only watch from the sidelines.
Served her right.
Displeasure flickered in Adrian's eyes.
"Chloe."
He tried to free his hand again.
Chloe clung like adhesive tape.
She had seen through his intention long ago.
Swallowing her embarrassment, she held on tighter.
"Adrian, my parents are here too."
"We're having dinner together at home later."
Anna's heart trembled.
She had almost forgotten.
If not for that last accident.
They would have been officially engaged by now.
Meeting parents was perfectly normal.
Adrian's gaze swept past her.
He looked toward where Chloe pointed.
Mr. and Mrs. Valentine were indeed waiting at the entrance.
Seeing them, the Valentines approached with beaming smiles.
Mrs. Valentine warmly took Adrian's other hand.
She patted it gently.
"Adrian, you're finally back."
"Chloe kept talking about missing you these past two days."
"My ears are about to grow calluses."
She gave her daughter a mock scolding look.
Chloe shyly pressed closer to Adrian.
"Mom, stop it."
"Adrian is right here."
Mrs. Valentine laughed.
"But it's true."
Her eyes suddenly turned to Anna.
As if just noticing her presence.
Anna happened to look up.
Meeting that contemptuous gaze.
Mr. Valentine also stepped forward to greet them.
"Adrian, long time no see."
He smiled warmly.
Adrian responded with a faint curve of his lips.
Chloe never loosened her grip.
She seized the chance to suggest.
"Adrian, I made a restaurant reservation."
But she immediately added.
"Grandpa also invited us for dinner."
"You decide."
She smiled sweetly.
Her hand didn't relax at all.
Adrian fell silent for a moment.
Mrs. Valentine lightly tapped her daughter's forehead.
"Of course we go to Grandpa's."
"The old man has been waiting forever."
She deliberately squeezed closer.
Pushing the two even nearer.
She glanced at Anna.
Purposely raising her voice.
"Adrian, is this your subordinate?"
She asked Adrian superficially.
But her eyes fixed on Anna darkly.
All attention instantly focused on her.
Anna sensed the hostility.
Knowing she was superfluous.
She spoke up proactively.
"Mr. Sinclair, I'll take my leave now."
She gave a slight nod.
Picked up her luggage and turned to leave.
Not wanting to linger at the airport.
Afraid of encountering that person again.
She unconsciously quickened her pace.
