Chapter 113

Silence fell inside the car.

The driver secretly observed the two through the rearview mirror.

Adrian Sinclair suddenly spoke. "I want to see where you live." His deep eyes locked onto her, as if trying to pull her in.

Anna Ross's breath hitched.

Although his behavior had been proper since arriving in New York, nothing like before.

His unpredictable nature still made her fearful.

She reminded him softly. "Mr. Sinclair, it's very late."

"If you don't return soon, Grandpa will worry."

She didn't believe he would insist after bringing up his grandfather.

"He wouldn't worry about such a small matter." His breath brushed past her, carrying a faint scent of alcohol.

Anna glanced at him helplessly.

Sensing her tension, Adrian chuckled lowly.

His voice was deep and mesmerizing. "What's wrong?"

"Can't I even see the apartment I rented?"

Anna wanted to refute, but his words left her speechless.

She regretted it deeply. She never should have accepted the apartment he found.

Seeing her no longer refusing, Adrian instructed the driver. "To the Bay Area."

The driver breathed a sigh of relief and immediately started the car.

He had waited here too long, almost got desensitized.

Was it easy getting a fare in the middle of the night!

The residence wasn't far, and they arrived quickly.

Anna thanked the driver and got out.

Adrian surveyed the surrounding environment.

The security was good, which satisfied him.

This place was very suitable for her to live.

Anna watched him inspecting the area like it was work and couldn't help but purse her lips.

She stepped forward and opened the door. Before she could speak, Adrian had already slipped inside.

Anna: "......"

Even if he found the apartment, couldn't he be a little less casual?

At least he should ask her, the resident, for her opinion.

Forget it. He was always this authoritarian.

Closing the door, she followed him in.

Adrian scanned the interior, then sat down on the sofa.

He raised a hand to rub his temples.

Anna was a little curious.

He seemed to be in a bad mood tonight.

"Get me a glass of water." A muffled voice came from the sofa.

Although reluctant, Anna complied.

After he finished the water, Anna thought about hurrying him back.

She pretended to glance at the time in surprise. "It's so late. You should go back, Mr. Sinclair."

Adrian looked at her, not saying a word.

He remembered his grandfather brought him and Chloe Valentine together during dinner, and restless rose in his heart.

Anna felt a chill down her spine under his gaze and instinctively stepped back.

She never should have brought him back.

"Do you still like me?"
