Chapter 442

She leaned in to look, but her face instantly flushed red.

Anna Ross immediately sensed something was off and asked with a smile, "Mia, what's really going on between you and Julian now?"

"Don't guess wildly. There's nothing between us." Mia Lawrence denied it verbally, but her fingers swiftly opened her phone.

She had actually missed his social media update. This was absolutely unforgivable.

She quickly liked that post. She wanted to leave a comment but feared Anna might see it, so she held back.

Anna was about to tease her further when Mia urgently covered her mouth and pulled her forward. "You promised to go shopping with me today! No more talking about this!"

"Alright, alright, I won't say anything. Please let go first." Anna shook her head helplessly. She was genuinely happy for her best friend.

The two walked toward the mall, laughing and joking.

Just after getting out of the car, Mia's phone suddenly vibrated. Seeing the message, she covered her mouth in surprise.

Anna moved closer and asked, "What's wrong?"

Mia was too excited to speak and simply handed her the phone. Anna understood everything the moment she saw the message content.

"You two are moving this fast?" She pretended to be angry and glared at her friend. "You actually kept it from me."

Mia was equally surprised. She never expected Julian Garnache to offer to come over himself. She suddenly touched her face nervously. "Anna, maybe we shouldn't let him come. I didn't even put on makeup todayโ€ฆ"

Anna couldn't help but laugh. "You're beautiful. You look great even without makeup."

"Really?" Mia still wasn't reassured. She ran to a mirror to check her reflection again and again. "Maybe I should go buy a new outfit first?"

Anna held her back. "Really, it's not necessary. You look perfect just like this."

Mia finally felt slightly more at ease, then suddenly thought of something else. "Then I'll go buy some coffee. He can have some when he arrives." With that, she rushed into the coffee shop.

Anna watched her best friend's busy figure and followed her inside with a resigned sigh.

So this is what it feels like to like someoneโ€”it truly makes you tread carefully.

The two sat in the coffee shop for a while before Julian arrived right on time.

"Julian, over here!" Mia quickly waved.

Julian walked over and naturally ruffled Anna's hair. "You heartless girl. If I don't reach out, you never remember to visit me."

Anna swatted his hand away in protest. "How many times do I have to say it? I've grown up now!"
