Chapter 119

"It seems I'll have to change how I address you from now on." Sophia Roscente blinked, giving Anna Ross a playful look.

Anna hadn't expected her to say that and was slightly taken aback. "There's no need to change it. Just call me what you always have."

"How can that be okay?" Sophia shook her head with a serious expression. "I'm a good girl who knows the rules. If my family found out I was being disrespectful to you, I'd definitely get scolded!" Her eyes suddenly lit up as she affectionately linked arms with Anna. "How about I call you sister? I've always wanted to have an older sister!"

Anna was flustered by her sudden enthusiasm. But seeing the hopeful look in her eyes, she eventually gave a gentle nod.

She was just used to the quiet of being alone. Now, with a lively and energetic younger sister suddenly in her home, she couldn't quite adjust immediately.

Sophia leaned against the couch and suddenly moved closer. "Sister, are you really sure nothing happened between you and my cousin during your time here in New York?"

Anna's heart skipped a beat, and she almost held her breath. Had Sophia noticed something?

Fragments of last night flashed through her mind. Her cheeks warmed slightly, but she quickly suppressed her emotions. "No," she said calmly. "It was just normal work."

Sophia immediately deflated, her face falling. She had always thought these two were exceptionally well-suited. If they really got together, she would absolutely support it with both hands.

So what if they were distantly related? There was no blood connection. In her view, it wasn't a problem at all. Even if they decided to elope, she would support them without hesitation.

"By the way, I called my cousin several times today, but he didn't answer." Sophia pulled out her phone, showing a list of missed calls. "Do you know where he went?"

Anna looked at the red notifications, equally puzzled. "I'm not sure either. I didn't see him today, and he didn't tell me his plans. It might be an urgent matter. Don't worry too much."

Seeing that Anna didn't know the details either, Sophia simply turned off her phone and shrugged. "Forget it. He's always been this mysterious and unpredictable. I won't bother about him."

She looked around the small apartment, growing more satisfied with it. A sly smile spread across her face. "Sister, I want to keep living here. I really don't have anywhere else to go."

Anna was stunned. Live here with her?

New York was a huge city. Couldn't she find a place? Even if she truly had no options, wasn't her cousin still here?

Anna initially wanted to refuse. But then a thought occurred to herโ€”if Sophia lived here, perhaps Adrian Sinclair wouldn't come over so freely.

"Alright," she agreed softly. "You can stay."

Sophia immediately cheered, feeling incredibly lucky to have gained such a beautiful and gentle older sister out of the blue.

After washing up, the two got into bed together. Anna was secretly relieved she had changed the sheets that morning. Otherwise, the situation would have been very awkward.

Sophia soon wrapped her arms around Anna like a plush toy and fell into a deep sleep. Anna could only smile helplessly.

The next morning, as Anna was getting ready for work, Sophia woke up groggily. Anna thought her movements had been too loud and disturbed her sleep.

But Sophia only mumbled drowsily, "Sister... bye..."

Then she fell back asleep.
