Chapter 484
Adrian Sinclair's gaze cut through the noisy crowd, landing directly on the center of the stage.
Under the stage lights, Anna Ross was intently playing the piano.
Noah Watson whispered a reminder. "Mr. Sinclair, this way, please."
Adrian seemed not to hear, his vision locked on the stage.
Noah followed his gaze, his eyes widening instantly.
"Why is Executive Assistant Ross here?"
He immediately understood the boss's purpose for this trip.
Adrian finally withdrew his gaze and sat down in a corner booth.
He had just picked up the drink menu when the conversation from the next table drifted into his ears.
Mia Lawrence drunkenly raised her glass. "Julian, if Anna weren't in debt, she would never work herself this hard!"
Julian Garnache looked grave. "Has she always been like this?"
Mia shook her head. "She was so happy in college. Everything changed after she broke up with Adrian Sinclair."
Julian pressed further. "Why did they break up?"
Noah choked hearing his boss's name.
"Sir, they're talking about you."
Adrian showed no reaction. He seemed frozen solid.
His expression was terrifyingly dark.
Noah didn't dare say another word.
The next table fell silent.
After a long pause, Mia gave a light laugh. "Her? She's just a fool. Misunderstood for so many years and never once explained."
Julian waited quietly for her to continue.
A faint cracking sound came from the glass in Adrian's hand.
