Chapter 194
Anna Ross stared at her phone screen, puzzled by the call from the bar owner.
Receiving a call at this hour was highly unusual.
She never missed work without reason, and her boss rarely contacted her outside working hours.
After a moment's hesitation, she answered. "Pamela, is everything alright?"
Having worked together for some time, she'd grown accustomed to calling the owner Pamela, finding it more natural and friendly.
An urgent voice came through the phone. "Anna, can you come to the bar right now? Someone is asking for you specifically."
"?"
Anna frowned slightly. Who would be looking for her at this time?
Her boss's tone sounded off. Was something wrong?
Her chest tightened with concern. "Alright, I'll be right there."
She grabbed her handbag and hurried out, only to collide with someone at the company entrance.
A sharp pain shot through her nose. She immediately lowered her head to apologize. "I'm so sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going!"
She tried to leave, but the person stopped her. "Anna Ross, you're just going to run off after bumping into me?"
That voice...
She froze. It was Adrian Sinclair!
Why did she keep running into him?
She forced a smile. "My apologies. I have an urgent matter to attend to."
Just as Adrian reached out to stop her, Chloe Valentine's voice called out from nearby. "Adrian!"
Anna quickened her pace without looking back, though she couldn't help wondering about their interaction.
Right now, the bar situation took priority.
When she arrived at the bar, the owner was waiting anxiously.
Pamela looked uneasy, her expression somewhat strange.
Anna glanced around but saw no one else. "Pamela, where is the person who wanted to see me?"
The owner took her hand, voice full of concern. "Anna, be honest with me. Are you planning to leave your job here?"
"Leave? I've never considered that." Anna looked completely bewildered.
Pamela finally relaxed, a smile appearing on her face. "That's good!"
Anna was currently the bar's main attraction. Losing her would be a significant blow.
Anna smiled slightly. "So, where is this person who asked for me?"
The owner didn't press further, simply pointing toward a corner of the bar.
A figure sat in the dim lighting.
Anna took a few steps closer. When she recognized who it was, she froze completely.
How could it be him!?
The man looked up, revealing a gentle smile. "Little Anna, it's been a long time."
