Chapter 169
Anna Ross turned her face away.
"Believe what you want."
She clenched her fists.
Lying felt awful.
But she had no other choice.
Adrian Sinclair narrowed his eyes.
He didn't press further.
The server arrived with their food just then.
Anna let out a quiet sigh of relief.
She picked up her fork and knife.
As she glanced up, her movements froze.
Sophia Roscente?
And sitting right beside her was Marcus Hill.
Their posture was intimate.
Anna's heart skipped a beat.
She immediately looked at Adrian.
He was already following her line of sight.
"The food will get cold."
She quickly stood up, blocking his view.
She swiftly placed a piece of meat on his plate.
Adrian raised an eyebrow.
"What's this about, Executive Assistant Ross?"
He chuckled lightly.
He reached out to move her aside.
Anna inwardly groaned.
Her body was shifted away.
She could only close her eyes and pray.
The air suddenly grew tense.
Adrian's gaze turned icy cold.
He stared intently at the two.
Sophia was wiping Marcus's mouth.
Marcus was feeding her with a smile.
They were completely unaware.
Anna took a deep breath.
Those two were being far too conspicuous.
Adrian slammed his utensils down.
He stood up, ready to approach them.
Anna grabbed his arm.
"Don't be impulsive."
She said urgently.
"Maybe they're just having a normal meal."
He paused.
His fists clenched.
But he actually sat back down.
They both watched covertly.
Anna frowned.
She took out her phone to send a warning.
But then she saw Marcus pinch Sophia's cheek.
He leaned in, about to kiss her.
Adrian shot to his feet.
She hurried to stop him.
"Calm down!"
But he shoved her aside.
He strode over.
His expression dark.
How dare that pig mess with his precious cousin.
He was furious.
Marcus was about to kiss her.
Sophia shyly pushed him away.
"Not here..."
"People are watching..."
