Chapter 105

Adrian Sinclair halted his steps.

He hadn't expected this to be the reason she ran out.

An inexplicable anger surged within him.

His tone grew colder. "You came out just for this?"

He was genuinely annoyed.

Grandpa suddenly bringing someone to the company.

This complicated things.

Anna Ross lowered her gaze, speaking softly. "My presence is inappropriate."

She was merely an outsider.

She shouldn't interrupt their reunion.

Adrian's expression darkened further.

He despised her distant demeanor.

He wished to draw a clear line immediately.

Was she so eager to push him toward someone else?

"We'll discuss this inside."

He turned and walked toward the office.

Anna followed silently.

Employees along the way greeted Adrian.

But their eyes lingered on her a few seconds too long.

Anna felt a tightness in her chest.

Through the office glass window.

Chloe Valentine was chatting and laughing intimately with Grandpa Lowell.

The scene was warm and harmonious.

Anna hesitated. "You go in. I'll wait outside."

Adrian gave her a brief glance.

He entered alone.

Chloe's eyes lit up.

She called out sweetly, "Adrian!"

She quickly approached and linked her arm with his.

Like a couple deeply in love.

Grandpa Lowell smiled and nodded.

Quite pleased with their intimate posture.

Adrian tried to withdraw his arm.

But Chloe held on tighter.

Pressing herself against him.

He frowned slightly but ultimately didn't push her away.

"Grandpa, what brings you here so suddenly?"

"Adrian, Grandpa specially brought me to familiarize myself with the company." Chloe answered eagerly, pulling him to sit beside the old man. "I missed you so much."

Grandpa laughed. "Chloe wants to work at the company. Arrange a position for her."

Preferably one where she can be with you every day.

Chloe looked at him expectantly.

Eager to replace that Executive Assistant immediately.

Adrian's expression tightened. "There are many positions available. She can choose any."

"I want you to arrange it personally." Grandpa stated firmly. "The Executive Assistant role is most suitable. Let her learn by your side."

Chloe's heart raced.

If he agreed.

That Anna Ross would have to leave immediately.

Adrian's lips pressed into a thin line. "I already have an Executive Assistant."

"She can choose any other position."

Except this one.

Disappointment flashed in Chloe's eyes.

But she pretended to be understanding. "Grandpa, it's really alright."

The more obedient she acted.

The more it pained the old man.

"You mean that Anna Ross?" Grandpa's face darkened. "I met her today. Incompetent. Fire her immediately."
