Chapter 184

This was going to be interesting.

As soon as Adrian Sinclair found out Anna Ross had leaked the project's confidential data, he would immediately fire her from the company.

But then, an even better idea occurred to her.

Adrian cast a cold glance at Chloe Valentine.

He deliberately stepped back. "I came to see how the negotiations were going."

His tone was calm, but his sharp gaze shot straight toward Anna.

The air around them instantly grew colder.

Only then did Anna realize.

Lucas was still holding her hand.

No wonder he had looked so dark since entering the room.

She quickly pulled her hand back.

She took half a step away.

When she looked up again, his expression had softened slightly.

She quietly let out a sigh of relief.

Chloe shot Anna a furious glare.

She was seething inside.

As long as this woman was around, Adrian's eyes never truly saw her.

He wouldn't spare her a single second.

She trembled with hatred.

Anna had to go.

She had to be driven out of the company, out of their world.

"Adrian, Executive Assistant Ross and Mr. Evans seem quite close."

Chloe looked at him with feigned innocence. "Bringing her along was the right choice. With her here, the cooperation talks should go smoothly, right?"

Anna felt sick listening.

This woman changed her expression faster than flipping a page.

She was clearly implying there was something improper between her and Lucas.

Would he believe it?

She couldn't help stealing a glance at Adrian.

Then she quickly lowered her head.

Adrian didn't respond to Chloe.

He walked directly over to Lucas.

The corner of his mouth lifted. "Mr. Evans, standing and talking must be tiring. Let's sit and discuss."

He gestured with his hand, subtly positioning himself between Lucas and Anna.

Lucas looked displeased, but could only smile and take a seat.

He tried to look back at Anna, but Adrian blocked his view completely.

He couldn't see even a shadow of her.

...

He suspected the man was doing it on purpose.

But he had no proof.

Adrian sat down beside him.

He interlaced his fingers on the table, his smile not reaching his eyes. "Mr. Evans, I hadn't planned on coming. But when I heard the partner was you, I came immediately."

Lucas: "...Thank you for your concern, Mr. Sinclair."

He probably wasn't here for the project at all.

"I will get to the bottom of the data breach."

Adrian's eyes suddenly turned cold, filled with a chilling intensity.

Chloe's heart trembled at the sight.

She rarely saw him angry.

She hadn't expected it to be so terrifying.

But then she thought, Anna was done for now.

She could barely suppress the smile tugging at her lips.

Seeing that no one was paying attention to her, Anna quietly moved toward the door.

She pushed it open and slipped out.

She bit her lower lip, her heart burning with anxiety.

She had to find evidence to prove her innocence, and fast.

Moreover, the look on Adrian's face, like he wanted to devour her, was truly frightening.

Staying away from Lucas was the wise choice.
