Chapter 422
Mia Lawrence walked over and sat on the opposite sofa.
She chose to believe him.
Whatever he said.
She trusted him unconditionally.
"Are you hungry?" Julian Garnache looked at her.
Mia shook her head gently.
"I ate something before coming."
. . . . . .
After a moment of silence, Julian spoke again.
"I'm a bit hungry."
"I'm making instant noodles."
"Do you want some too?"
Mia felt their conversation was a bit stiff.
The atmosphere was subtly.
She didn't know how to respond.
She had just said she wasn't hungry.
But now she wanted to keep him company.
She was caught in a dilemma.
Julian noticed her hesitation.
He chuckled softly.
"Eating alone is no fun."
"Keep me company."
"Okay!" Mia agreed immediately.
Afraid he might change his mind.
Julian smiled.
He stood up and walked into the kitchen.
Soon, the aroma of instant noodles filled the air.
Mia felt a bit dazed.
It had been a long time since she had instant noodles.
It actually smelled incredibly appealing.
She stood up and looked around the room.
It felt like a dream.
She was actually in the place where Julian grew up.
Small decorations hung on the walls.
The bookshelf was filled with trophies.
She walked closer for a better look.
They were all first-place awards from piano competitions.
"So impressive," Mia murmured softly.
She had only heard Anna Ross mention he loved playing the piano.
She never knew he was this outstanding.
He had won so many honors.
"Time to eat," Julian called out gently.
She turned around.
He was carrying two steaming bowls of instant noodles.
Julian set the bowls down.
He looked slightly apologetic.
"There aren't many ingredients at home."
"We'll have to make do."
Mia put down the trophy and walked over.
"Instant noodles are great."
"I haven't had them in ages."
She sat down and took a whiff.
"Smells amazing."
"Let's eat."
Without waiting for his response, she picked up her fork and knife and started eating.
Julian glanced at her and began eating as well.
He hadn't eaten all day.
He was starving.
Mia appeared calm on the surface.
But inside, she was thrilled.
Having dinner with the person she liked.
How wonderful.
But she noticed.
Julian had a faint trace of worry between his brows.
"Julian."
"Can you tell me about Anna's childhood?" Mia put down her utensils.
She took a sip of mineral water.
Julian froze.
He stopped eating.
He looked up at her.
Mia smiled.
"I want to know her embarrassing childhood stories."
"So I can tease her later."
Actually, she wanted to change the subject.
To cheer him up.
Julian put down his utensils.
He folded his hands.
"Anna's childhood."
"Was actually not very good."
