Chapter 341

Everyone immediately started teasing.

Someone shouted, "Mia Lawrence, why don't you let her sit with us?"

Mia Lawrence shot them a look.

These men could fool around at the office all they wanted.

But acting like this in front of her friends was too much.

It was truly annoying.

"They're friends. What's wrong with sitting together?" She raised an eyebrow at the person beside her.

The others fell silent and focused on their food.

Anna Ross felt awkward.

She had just told him they shouldn't meet again.

Yet here they were, sitting together.

It felt incredibly uncomfortable.

Lucas Evans, however, seemed perfectly at ease.

He picked up some food and placed it in her bowl. "Anna, have something to eat first."

Anna wanted to refuse.

But the food was already in her bowl.

With so many people watching, she couldn't just move it out.

More teasing erupted. "Since when do 'just friends' serve each other food?"

"Tsk tsk, this doesn't seem simple at all!"

Almost everyone present was male.

The noise was overwhelming, and Anna couldn't get a word in.

She stiffly thanked Lucas.

Mia Lawrence yelled, "What's wrong with you all? Can't you even eat quietly?" She turned and smiled at Anna. "Just ignore them."

Anna could only offer a weak smile.

The others, chastised, didn't dare to joke further.

After eating for a while, someone suggested, "It's rare for us to have a dinner like this, and Mr. Evans is here. Let's play a game!"

Someone else immediately agreed. "Sure! What should we play?"

The person who suggested it stood up and walked to the other side.

Everyone waited.

A moment later, he came running back with something.

Anna saw it was a deck of playing cards.

He opened the deck and shuffled it. "Let's play Truth or Dare. The person with the highest card wins and can ask anyone a question."

"Great, I'm ready." Someone rubbed their hands together eagerly.

Anna paused, then shook her head. "You all play. I'll sit this one out."

She wasn't close with these people.

Playing such a game felt too sudden.

The person across from her immediately objected. "We're all having fun together. It'd be boring for you to just sit there. Join us."

"I..." Anna tried to refuse again.

She really didn't like these kinds of games.

Just as she felt cornered, Lucas spoke up. "If she doesn't want to play, don't force her."

Mia Lawrence gave him an appraising look.

Just for that, her impression of him improved.

Lucas was their company's business partner.

Since he had spoken, the teasers couldn't insist further.

Anna felt grateful.

She lowered her head and continued eating.

The others happily started their game.

Mia Lawrence kept drinking, one glass after another.

Soon, she was leaning drunkenly on Anna's shoulder.

Mia hugged her bottle and mumbled, "Anna, liking someone is so painful."

Anna thought about the situation with Julian Garnache.

She put down her fork and knife, wanting to clarify things.

But Mia had already slid off her shoulder.

She was now passed out, snoring on the table.
