Chapter 471

Anna Ross paused.

The Band-Aids at home were all used up.

She had forgotten to buy more.

The two on the sofa looked over.

They asked with concern.

Adrian Sinclairโ€™s gaze swept across the sofa.

His eyes were cold.

It seemed to say: If you hadnโ€™t insisted on eating, she wouldnโ€™t have gotten hurt.

Sophia Roscente shrank back.

She walked over, her face full of apology.

โ€œAnna, you should go buy some medicine.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ll handle the cooking.โ€

Marcus Hill nodded.

He picked up an apron and tied it on.

Adrian didnโ€™t speak.

He pulled her outside.

The hallway was quiet.

Their footsteps intermingled.

One set was urgent.

The other was flustered.

Annaโ€™s wrist ached.

She said softly, โ€œItโ€™s really not necessary.โ€

โ€œStopping the bleeding is enough.โ€

It was just a small cut.

No need for special treatment.

The man in front remained silent.

They soon reached the pharmacy.

Adrian bought antiseptic and Band-Aids.

Anna sat on a bench to wait.

She watched him walk toward her against the light.

His features were deep and distinct.

It made her dizzy.

Adrian sat down.

He took out an antiseptic swab.

Reached for her hand.

โ€œGive me your hand.โ€

Anna glanced at the cut.

The bleeding had stopped.

She hesitated, then extended her hand.

The moment they touched, she wanted to pull back.

But he held her firmly.

He lowered his head to apply the medicine.

Careful and focused.

Anna turned her face away.

Suppressing the strange feeling in her heart.

The Band-Aid was soon applied.

She withdrew her hand.

Her fingertips curled slightly.

A light rain began to fall.

The wind blew.

Raindrops slanted inward.

Bringing a chill.

Adrian noticed her shivering.

He took off his jacket and draped it over her shoulders.

Warmth enveloped her.

Anna looked up.

He wore only a shirt and vest.

Thin and lean.

She immediately grew uneasy.

He had caught a cold last time.

He couldnโ€™t dress so lightly again.

โ€œIโ€™m not cold.โ€

โ€œYou wear it.โ€

She handed the jacket back.

Adrian gazed into her worried eyes.

He didnโ€™t take it.

โ€œLast time was from catching a chill earlier.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s fine this time.โ€

Anna was surprised.

He had seen right through her.

The jacket remained held in midair.

A young couple passed by.

Seeing them wanted to give the jacket to each other, the girl laughed lightly.

โ€œMiss, your boyfriend is so sweet.โ€

And so handsome.

The girl stole a few more glances at Adrian.

Her boyfriend instantly grew jealous.

He took off his own jacket and wrapped it around her.

Dragged her away forcefully.

โ€œIโ€™ll deal with you later.โ€

Playful arguing echoed from the roadside.

Fading into the distance.

Anna didnโ€™t get a chance to explain.

They were already gone.

โ€œSeeing them.โ€

โ€œReminds me of us in the past.โ€

Adrianโ€™s voice was low.

His breath melted into the air.

Annaโ€™s heart tightened.

It felt suspended.

They had been even more affectionate back then.

Others had admired their closeness.
