Marcus Hill cleared his throat.

He leaned closer to Adrian Sinclair's ear.

"What do girls want when they drag men out shopping?"

Adrian gave him a sidelong glance.

Marcus shook the shopping bags in his hand.

"They want help carrying things."

He grinned and handed the bags over.

"Perfect timing."

"Your chance to impress."

Adrian looked away.

"That's you."

He started walking forward.

Marcus stood frozen for a moment.

He shook his head helplessly.

The figure ahead was already distant.

He hurried to catch up.

"Wait for me!"

He muttered complaints.

"So heartless."

Sophia Roscente linked arms with Anna Ross.

They entered the cosmetics section.

A dazzling array of products came into view.

Sophia's eyes instantly lit up.

"It's been so long since I went shopping."

"I want to buy everything!"

Anna smiled faintly.

She hadn't shopped in a long time either.

Every day was just about earning money.

She never properly rewarded herself.

Thinking about it, it did seem rather dull.

She glanced at the price tags.

The numbers were startling.

She turned to look elsewhere.

Mia Lawrence was laughing with Julian Garnache.

She didn't want to interrupt.

She browsed alone.

Sophia suddenly appeared.

"Sis, this would suit you."

She held up a lipstick.

Anna shook her head gently.

"I just bought one recently."

Sophia examined the lipstick repeatedly.

She thought the color was perfect.

A sales assistant approached at just the right moment.

"This is the last one."

"It's a popular shade."

Sophia gasped.

"Only one left?"

She looked at Anna.

The other still refused.

She bit her lip.

She decided to buy it first.

Footsteps sounded behind them.

Sophia's eyes brightened.

She waved and called out.

"Cousin, over here!"

Anna's heart skipped a beat.

She looked up.

Adrian walked over slowly.

The sales assistants all glanced his way.

They whispered about his appearance.

She walked up to Adrian.

"It's rare for you to come out, Cousin."

"You should buy some gifts, right?"

He scanned the store.

"Pick anything."
