Chapter 128
Anna Ross picked up her bag and stood.
"I'm leaving for the day, Noah."
She quickly left the office.
Noah Watson stood still, holding a stack of files.
He pushed open the door to the CEO's office.
His phone suddenly rang.
He answered immediately.
Loud music blared from the other end.
"Noah, come to MILIT Restaurant."
"Bring Anna Ross with you."
Noah glanced at the empty Executive Assistant desk.
"Mr. Sinclair, Executive Assistant Ross has already left for the day."
"Should I call her back?"
There was a brief silence on the phone.
Adrian Sinclair's voice came through again.
"That won't be necessary."
"Just come yourself."
Noah set down the files.
He drove to the restaurant.
He remembered Adrian leaving in a hurry that afternoon.
He must have been meeting a client.
Only two people were in the private room.
Adrian sat at the head of the table.
Across from him was Mr. Han, from the partner company.
Noah greeted him warmly.
"Mr. Han, it's been a while."
"You're looking well."
Easton White laughed heartily.
He gave Adrian a thumbs up.
"Mr. Sinclair's assistant certainly knows how to talk."
Adrian gave a faint smile.
Easton White warmly invited him.
"We're all old friends here."
"Sit down and join us for a bite."
Noah sat down calmly.
Easton White raised his glass.
"A toast to our cooperation."
All three raised their glasses and clinked.
Adrian took a small sip.
Easton White began talking animatedly.
"Mr. Sinclair is so young."
"Yet already running the Lowell Group."
"Truly impressive."
Adrian smiled without speaking.
Noah chimed in at the right moment.
The atmosphere gradually warmed up.
After several rounds of drinks.
Easton White was still eager for more.
"Drinking here isn't lively enough."
"Shall we continue at a bar?"
Adrian lightly tapped the table with his fingertips.
He gave a slight nod.
The three stood up to leave.
Dreamland Bar.
Anna kept dialing the phone.
The line was always busy.
Her heart sank deeper and deeper.
Sophia Roscente was missing.
If something happened to her so soon after arriving.
Anna would never forgive herself.
Someone urged her from outside the door.
The owner pushed the door open.
"The customers are getting impatient."
"Why are you still here?"
Anna hung up the phone.
"Owner, I have an emergency."
"I can't perform tonight."
The owner looked troubled.
"Many customers came specifically for you."
"At least sing two songs before you go."
