Chapter 18
Adrian Sinclair gave Anna Ross a brief, indifferent glance.
He accepted the soup bowl Chloe Valentine handed him, but merely set it down on the table.
Chloeโs heart tightened.
She needed to secure this man, and quickly.
โSince youโre here to serve, be more observant,โ Adrian said suddenly, looking at Anna. โCome here and serve the food.โ
Annaโs fingers trembled slightly.
She wanted to refuse.
But his icy stare froze her in place.
Silently, she picked up the serving utensils.
โWhich dish would you like?โ
Chloe nearly gritted her teeth to dust.
He wouldnโt even touch the food she had just served him.
Now he was asking another woman to do it.
โWhatever,โ Adrian replied lazily, leaning back in his chair.
His eyes, however, remained fixed on her movements.
Anna picked up a piece of fish with the serving fork.
Just as she was about to place it in his bowl, he moved his hand away.
The fish fell directly onto his polished leather shoe.
โClean it up,โ Adrianโs voice turned cold.
Anna looked up. โYou moved on purpose.โ
โI said, clean it up.โ His tone was terrifyingly dark.
Even Chloe shrank back slightly.
Annaโs eyes instantly welled with tears.
She reached for a napkin.
He pushed her hand away sharply.
โUse your hand.โ
โAdrian!โ Tears spilled from Annaโs eyes.
He only repeated coldly, โHurry up.โ
She took a deep breath.
If he was determined to humiliate her,
then so be it.
She slowly knelt down.
Her hand shook as she reached out.
Tears fell onto the carpet.
Adrian watched her humble็ๅงฟๆ.
A storm raged in his eyes.
He suddenly pulled his foot back.
โGet away.โ
He ultimately didnโt let her touch the shoe.
Anna silently stood up and retreated to a corner.
Her face was now a mask of calm.
Chloe shot her a contemptuous glance.

โAdrian, take me home.โ
After dinner, Chloe linked her arm with Adrianโs.
Her eyes were full of expectation.
Adrian withdrew his arm.
He called his driver.
โSomeone will take you home.โ
Chloeโs lips pressed together in disappointment.
But she quickly smiled again. โIโll message you when I get home.โ
She couldnโt appear too eager.
Adrian gave a slight nod.
Soon, they were the only two left.
Annaโs heart pounded like a drum.
She needed to leave immediately.
โIโm heading back now.โ
She kept her head down and turned to go.
Adrian let out a soft laugh. โIโll take you.โ
Anna shook her head hurriedly. โIโll get a cab.โ
She frantically pulled out her phone.
Her fingertips were trembling.
