Chapter 18

Adrian Sinclair gave Anna Ross a brief, indifferent glance.

He accepted the soup bowl Chloe Valentine handed him, but merely set it down on the table.

Chloeโ€™s heart tightened.

She needed to secure this man, and quickly.

โ€œSince youโ€™re here to serve, be more observant,โ€ Adrian said suddenly, looking at Anna. โ€œCome here and serve the food.โ€

Annaโ€™s fingers trembled slightly.

She wanted to refuse.

But his icy stare froze her in place.

Silently, she picked up the serving utensils.

โ€œWhich dish would you like?โ€

Chloe nearly gritted her teeth to dust.

He wouldnโ€™t even touch the food she had just served him.

Now he was asking another woman to do it.

โ€œWhatever,โ€ Adrian replied lazily, leaning back in his chair.

His eyes, however, remained fixed on her movements.

Anna picked up a piece of fish with the serving fork.

Just as she was about to place it in his bowl, he moved his hand away.

The fish fell directly onto his polished leather shoe.

โ€œClean it up,โ€ Adrianโ€™s voice turned cold.

Anna looked up. โ€œYou moved on purpose.โ€

โ€œI said, clean it up.โ€ His tone was terrifyingly dark.

Even Chloe shrank back slightly.

Annaโ€™s eyes instantly welled with tears.

She reached for a napkin.

He pushed her hand away sharply.

โ€œUse your hand.โ€

โ€œAdrian!โ€ Tears spilled from Annaโ€™s eyes.

He only repeated coldly, โ€œHurry up.โ€

She took a deep breath.

If he was determined to humiliate her,

then so be it.

She slowly knelt down.

Her hand shook as she reached out.

Tears fell onto the carpet.

Adrian watched her humble็š„ๅงฟๆ€.

A storm raged in his eyes.

He suddenly pulled his foot back.

โ€œGet away.โ€

He ultimately didnโ€™t let her touch the shoe.

Anna silently stood up and retreated to a corner.

Her face was now a mask of calm.

Chloe shot her a contemptuous glance.

ใ€‚ใ€‚ใ€‚ใ€‚ใ€‚ใ€‚

โ€œAdrian, take me home.โ€

After dinner, Chloe linked her arm with Adrianโ€™s.

Her eyes were full of expectation.

Adrian withdrew his arm.

He called his driver.

โ€œSomeone will take you home.โ€

Chloeโ€™s lips pressed together in disappointment.

But she quickly smiled again. โ€œIโ€™ll message you when I get home.โ€

She couldnโ€™t appear too eager.

Adrian gave a slight nod.

Soon, they were the only two left.

Annaโ€™s heart pounded like a drum.

She needed to leave immediately.

โ€œIโ€™m heading back now.โ€

She kept her head down and turned to go.

Adrian let out a soft laugh. โ€œIโ€™ll take you.โ€

Anna shook her head hurriedly. โ€œIโ€™ll get a cab.โ€

She frantically pulled out her phone.

Her fingertips were trembling.
