Chapter 163
Vivian sensed the urgency in her tone and ended the call without further questions.
Anna quickly got ready and hurried to the company.
She planned to find an opportunity to ask Adrian later.
As she entered the company lobby, a sharp voice called out from behind.
"Executive Assistant Ross."
She turned and saw Chloe Valentine smiling as she approached.
Anna instinctively wanted to avoid her, but remembering she now reported to Chloe, she stopped.
"Executive Assistant Ross, don't forget you're under my supervision now."
Chloe pressed the elevator button for the Creative Department.
She stood beside Anna with an air of superiority.
Anna offered a polite smile.
"I'm aware."
She could feel Chloe's hostility.
It was uncomfortable.
Even though she knew they were getting married soon, her position felt awkward.
Chloe gave her a dismissive glance and stepped into the elevator.
After yesterday's incident, she had fully declared Anna her enemy.
If not for Anna, Adrian would have married her already.
Anna felt her gaze but chose to ignore it.
She stood quietly in the corner.
They maintained a silent understanding.
Entering the office, Chloe tossed her bag onto the sofa.
She pointed at the mountain of documents on the desk.
"These need to be delivered to Manager Klein."
"Also, revise these files thoroughly."
"Review all submitted proposals and select the suitable ones."
She finished in one breath and leisurely sat in her chair.
Seeing Anna unmoved, she grew irritated.
"Why aren't you moving? There's also a presentation PPT that must be completed by this morning."
Anna looked at the assigned tasks and smirked inwardly.
This was clearly deliberate mistreatment.
She asked, "Am I doing all of this alone?"
Chloe lazily looked up. "Of course you are."
Anna didn't start working. Instead, she countered, "If I recall correctly, these should be the Director's responsibilities."
"Of course, if you're incapable, I can assist."
Someone happened to enter and overheard, glancing surprised at Chloe.
Chloe gritted her teeth in anger. This was an obvious jab at her incompetence.
But with others present, she had to concede. "Of course not. I'll handle these."
After finishing yesterday's tasks, Anna planned to find Adrian.
As she reached the Creative Department entrance, Howard's call came through.
Frowning, she walked to the stairwell to answer. "The branch company issue is resolved. What more do you want?"
She cautiously checked her surroundings, worried about being overheard.
Howard's scheming voice replied, "I know about that. You did well."
"But you seem to have forgotten another matter."
"I told you to sabotage Adrian and Miss Valentine's marriage, yet they're getting married soon."
Anna's expression tightened. She hadn't expected him to remember.
Helpless, she said, "Their marriage was arranged by Grandpa. Nothing I do will change that!"
Her fingers clenched, hoping Howard would drop it.
