Anna stared at her phone screen and couldn't help but mutter a complaint under her breath.
But the message content made her bolt upright from her bed instantly.
"What? He wants me to pick up Chloe Valentine?"
Has Adrian lost his mind? That's his own fiancรฉe. Instead of picking her up himself, he's ordering an outsider like her to do it.

He told her to pack her luggage and return to New York tomorrow.
It included Chloe's detailed address.
Anna felt her vision darken.

She collapsed back onto her pillow with a bitter smile.

She just got him to raise her salary. She couldn't refuse this task.
After a bit of self-consolation, she replied with a simple "Okay."
She put her phone down and tried to go back to sleep.
Early the next morning, Anna hailed a taxi with her luggage to pick up Chloe.
When she arrived at the destination, Chloe was already waiting with her suitcase.
A sweet smile was spread across her face.
But that smile froze the moment Anna stepped out of the car.
Chloe's face fell with disappointment when she saw who it was.
She rushed to the car and peered inside, searching for any sign of Adrian.
She found nothing.
She turned to Anna and asked unwillingly, "Where's Adrian? Why didn't he come?"
Anna felt helpless.
Heaven knows what whims Adrian was following.
She still explained gently, "Mr. Sinclair is busy with matters. He specifically instructed me to pick you up."
Hearing the word "busy," Chloe's expression softened slightly.
She got into the car with Anna.
Silence filled the journey.
Chloe glanced sideways at Anna.
A surge of astonishment rose within her.
Anna was indeed beautiful, fresh and elegant.
Even without makeup, she outshone Chloe's full glamour.
After watching for a long while, Chloe suddenly asked, "You and Adrian just met?"
Anna's heart tightened.
But her expression remained calm. "Yes, I applied for a job and happened to join the company."
Chloe nodded.
"What do you think of him? I noticed he treats you quite specially."
The question became increasingly pointed.
Anna felt like she was sitting on pins and needles.
To tell the truth, Adrian was a demon who tormented her.
But she could only smile. "Mr. Sinclair is very good to all his subordinates. I don't have much contact with him. I'm very busy with work every day."
Chloe didn't press further.
This answer secretly pleased her.
As long as she confirmed their relationship was ordinary, that was enough.
