The man spoke abruptly. "Noah Watson called. An urgent meeting came up. I must leave."

Adrian Sinclair released her hand and walked away without looking back.

"Adrian!" Chloe stumbled, bracing herself against the wall to steady herself.

His figure had already vanished.

She stamped her foot in frustration.

Anna Ross must be expelled from the company.

She stormed back to her office and gulped down a glass of water.

Her gaze fell on the documents on her desk. A ruthless glint flashed in her eyes.

She snatched the file and smirked. "Since you're asking for trouble, don't blame me for being merciless."

Anna returned to her temporary workstation, feeling uneasy.

Did he see through her deliberate act earlier?

"Yes, you handle it. I have more important matters. No time for this." Chloe examined her manicure, feigning nonchalance. "These are core documents. They must not be leaked. The consequences would be severe. Understood?"

Entrusting such crucial work to her?

Anna was reluctant, but they had already clashed before.

She was only here to assist. It was better not to push too hard.

She accepted the documents and replied calmly, "Alright. I'll handle it carefully."

"Is there anything else, Director Valentine? It's work hours. I need to focus."
