Chapter 486
His eyes churned with bottomless guilt.
A bloody hue slowly encroached the whites of his eyes.
The moment Anna Ross turned her head, he spun around and bolted through the crowd.
The bar was packed with people.
He bumped into several drunkards in the shoving crowd, drawing a chorus of curses.
He seemed not to hear, focused only on rushing outside.
Anna followed the commotion with her gaze.
She only caught a glimpse of a figure fleeing in panic.
It felt strangely familiar.
It reminded her intensely of someone she knew.
She frowned, thinking.
But she couldn't recall who it was.
She was about to go find Mia Lawrence when someone suddenly collided with her head-on.
A dull pain throbbed at her temple.
Clutching her head, she apologized repeatedly. "I'm so sorry!"
Noah Watson rubbed his sore shoulder, ready to snap.
He looked down and froze. "Executive Assistant Ross?"

Noah had no time to explain.
He looked anxiously toward the door. "I'll explain later. I have to find Mr. Sinclair!"
He hurried out after him.
Anna rubbed her forehead.
She walked quickly toward the booth.
Mia sat there with her head down, her expression unusually somber.
Anna looked at Julian Garnache.
He just shook his head helplessly.
She asked softly, "Mia, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Mia suddenly hugged her.
Her voice was choked with tears. "Anna, I might have done something that will make you angry."
Anna gave a weak laugh. "I could never be angry with you, no matter what you do."
Mia bit her lip. "I just... told Adrian Sinclair the truth about your breakup."
Anna's face instantly lost all color.
She steadied herself against the table. "What did you say?"
"I could tell you still like him," Mia said urgently, grasping her hands. "Since you both still have feelings for each other, why not clear up the misunderstanding?"
Anna stared blankly ahead.
Her voice was so faint it was almost inaudible. "No... why did you tell him..."
