Chapter 351

Howard Lowell saw Anna Ross standing at the door.

He immediately rushed forward and grabbed her arm.

"Anna, hurry to the hospital."

His voice was urgent, but his eyes drifted behind her.

Anna's heart tightened.

"The hospital? Who's at the hospital?"

"Your mother had an accident. She's at New York-Presbyterian Hospital." Howard lowered his voice, his fingers tightening slightly.

Anna's face instantly turned pale.

She pushed Howard away and ran toward the elevator without looking back.

Her phone vibrated in her palm, but she didn't bother to call a car.

Her high heels clicked against the floor in a chaotic rhythm.

Tears blurred her vision.

She raised a hand to wipe them away, but her steps suddenly faltered.

Her toe hit an obstacle, and she lost her balance.

Anna gasped as she pitched forward.

Her hands flailed in the air, grasping at nothing.

The ground rushed toward her.

She closed her eyes, waiting for the impact.

A pair of hands caught her steadily.

Adrian Sinclair pulled her back into his arms, his brow slightly furrowed.

"Not watching where you're going?"

Anna broke free from his embrace and offered a hurried thanks.

She tried to run again, but he caught her wrist.

"Let me go!" Her voice trembled with urgency. "My mom is at the hospital. I have to go now!"

Adrian silently pulled her toward the private elevator.

Anna struggled, her heels scraping against the floor with a sharp sound.

"I said I don't need your help!"

The elevator doors closed.

Adrian pressed the button for the lower level.

"I'll drive you."

Three words, leaving no room for refusal.

Anna froze.

She looked at his tense profile in the elevator mirror and suddenly fell silent.

Dingโ€”

The elevator reached the underground garage.

Adrian led her toward a black sports car.

He practically shoved Anna into the passenger seat.

The door slammed shut.

She bit her lip and glared at him.

Adrian started the engine, and the car roared out of the garage.

The scenery outside the window flew past in a blur.

Anna gripped the seatbelt, her knuckles turning white.

The hospital sign came into view.

As soon as the car stopped, she reached for the seatbelt release.

Adrian placed his hand over hers.

"Don't panic."

His voice was low, carrying a strangely calming power.

Anna paused.

The sports car came to a smooth stop at the emergency entrance.
