Chapter 493
Something wasn't right.
He had just seen Vincent Lombardi at the company the other day.
How did Adrian manage to capture him now?
Vincent glanced around.
The dim surroundings sent chills down his spine.
Adrian shot him a cold look.
A flicker of menace flashed in his eyes.
"Thanks to you, that's no longer the case." His voice was low.
The man fell silent for a moment.
Then he burst into laughter.
"So that's how it is. But you've already broken up."
"What right do you have to capture me? This is illegal!"
He had once run with gangs.
He had seen it all.
He wasn't afraid now.
"Illegal?" Adrian sneered.
His expression grew darker.
"A rat like you dares to say that?"
The rain continued outside.
Cold wind blew through the broken wall.
Vincent shivered.
He swallowed hard.
The arrogance faded from his eyes.
"You brought me here just for this?"
"Are you Vincent Lombardi? What did you do to them three years ago?"
Adrian set down the photo.
He slowly returned to his chair.
Rage burned in his eyes.
The man laughed recklessly.
"Who remembers things from three years ago? Don't be ridiculous. Let me go now!"
He taunted the figure before him.
His swollen eyes could barely open.
"Don't think I won't sue you!"
As soon as the words left his mouth.
Another kick landed.
Adrian watched coldly as the man writhed in pain.
"I'll give you one more chance. Speak properly." He delivered another punch.
Vincent's face contorted in agony.
He could no longer laugh.
"Stop! I'll talk!"
Adrian halted.
He crouched beside him.
"You took that woman away back then. Why?"
The man on the ground tried to touch his wounds.
But his bound hands and feet prevented movement.
"Why else? She didn't want me to find you."
He spat on the ground.
"I just asked her to help pay my debts. What's wrong with that?"
That woman was so stubborn.
She had a boyfriend with connections but refused to use them.
Now she had nothing.
"What do you mean?" Adrian asked through gritted teeth.
The thought of her facing such a person alone.
While he had misunderstood her.
Felt like a thousand knives stabbing his heart.
This pain was nothing compared to what she had endured.
Vincent, frightened by the beating, shrunk back.
"I owed money back then. Her mother liked me and was willing to help pay."
"But they had no money. I was about to leave. Then I found out she had a boyfriend."
"I asked her to get some money from him. She refused."
Rage nearly erupted from Adrian's eyes.
He clenched his fists.
His emotions were in turmoil.
Their breakup was because she was protecting him.
That strong, independent woman.
Bore the heavy burden alone.
While he had said such hurtful things.
"Then one day, I went to your school to find you. She discovered me and dragged me away at all costs."
Vincent looked at him curiously.
"You're so curious. You didn't hurt her because of this, did you?"
Before he could finish.
Another punch landed on his swollen face.
