“No? Are you implying I’m making this up?”

His tone was icy, his gaze sharp as a blade, piercing straight through her.

The other two colleagues exchanged a look, then turned hesitant eyes toward Anna Ross.

She stood her ground, spine straight.

From the moment the documents were handed over until now, she had never let anyone else handle them.

She had not leaked a single word.

The problem must lie elsewhere.

She met his gaze directly, her voice clear. “I am certain there were no oversights in the steps I handled. There must be some misunderstanding.”

The man snorted derisively, his tone sarcastic. “So you’re flawless, and the problem is on our end? Is this your company’s professional attitude?”

Anna pressed her lips together and remained silent.

The clues were scattered, and she couldn’t piece them together yet.

Chloe Valentine suddenly stepped forward, a polite smile on her face. “Cooperation relies on goodwill. Why argue? Since Executive Assistant Ross says there wasn’t, perhaps we should investigate further.”

She glanced sideways at Anna, a faint trace of triumph flashing in the corner of her eye.

Anna was taken aback.

Chloe was speaking up for her?

Seeing this, the man’s tone softened slightly, though his expression remained displeased. “But the leak to our competitor is a fact! You’re playing games with our trust. How can we continue this partnership?”

“Leaked to a rival company!?” Chloe gasped, covering her mouth with her hand. She turned to Anna. “But you were the one in charge of the core documents the whole time…”

She frowned, hesitating, then suddenly gripped Anna’s shoulders, her tone turning severe. “Executive Assistant Ross, I’m not accusing you, but this is critical. You must provide an explanation!”

Every eye in the room instantly locked onto Anna.

A cold laugh echoed in Anna’s heart.

So the earlier intervention was just a setup for this ambush.

She brushed off Chloe’s hand, her expression calm and detached. “I’ll say it again. I know nothing about this.”

Chloe gritted her teeth in silent fury.

The man chose that moment to snort coldly. “The documents were in your possession. You know nothing? Did they grow legs and walk away on their own?”

He crossed his arms, his posture arrogant.

Chloe also pressed in a low voice, “Executive Assistant Ross, are you truly completely in the dark?”
