Chapter 17
Adrian Sinclairโs gaze settled on her. โI only want her to serve.โ
Anna Rossโs fingers tightened then relaxed.
โBut I just want to be alone with you. I donโt want any outsiders interrupting.โ Chloe Valentineโs voice was sweet, but her eyes held a cold glint. โDonโt you have things to do? Shouldnโt you leave?โ
Anna Ross curved her lips into a smile. โAlright.โ She turned to leave.
Her wrist was suddenly seized in a strong grip.
Adrian pulled her back in front of him, his voice low. โYou donโt leave until I say so.โ His fingers tightened, leaving red marks on her pale skin. โThatโs an Executive Assistantโs duty.โ
Anna couldnโt break free. She looked up and glared at him.
Adrian seemed to enjoy her angry expression, a slight smirk playing on his lips.
Anna suddenly looked at Chloe. โSince Mr. Sinclair insists, I suppose I have to stay. But will Ms. Valentine be upset?โ
Adrian raised an eyebrow, a flicker of interest in his eyes.
Their gazes locked for a moment.
He turned to Chloe, his tone gentle. โChloe is the most understanding, isnโt that right?โ
Chloeโs nails dug into her palm. She forced a smile. โOf course I donโt mind.โ Her eyes, however, shot venomous daggers at Anna.
Anna hadnโt expected her to concede.
Adrian was already walking to Chloeโs side. He spoke coldly. โArenโt you coming?โ
Anna followed.
The restaurant was opulent, like a palace.
A server led them to a private room and respectfully withdrew.
Adrian signaled to Anna. โPull out the chairs.โ
A triumphant smile touched Chloeโs lips.
Annaโs fingers trembled slightly as she pulled out two adjacent chairs.
Adrian sat down gracefully. Chloe immediately took the seat next to him.
Anna quietly stepped back to the side.
The food arrived quickly, its aroma filling the air.
Anna pressed a hand against her growling stomach. She hadnโt eaten a thing since morning.
She just hoped this torment would end soon.
Chloe placed food on Adrianโs plate, her tone dripping with concern. โAdrian, youโve lost weight recently. You should eat more.โ
