Chapter 101
Anna hurried downstairs.
A black Mercedes-Benz waited at the entrance.
She pulled the car door open and slid inside.
Adrian Sinclair sat in the back seat.
She instinctively moved toward the front passenger seat.
His hand closed around her wrist.
"Drive."
His voice brooked no argument.
The car began moving slowly.
Only then did he release her.
A box of breakfast was handed to her.
Anna paused slightly.
"For me?"
She asked softly.
Adrian glanced at her.
"Do I look like I bought it for decoration?"
His tone held its usual mockery.
"Don't faint from hunger and delay work again."
She accepted the meal box.
Her fingertips brushed against the warm milk.
"Thank you."
She murmured quietly.
The scent of food filled the car.
He pretended to look out the window.
But his peripheral vision remained on her.
The company tower soared into the clouds.
Its glass facade reflected the morning light.
Far more impressive than the San Francisco branch.
"Mr. Sinclair."
A man in a gray suit approached.
He carried a thick stack of files.
"This is Noah Watson, my assistant."
Adrian gave a brief introduction.
Anna immediately nodded.
"Assistant Watson, pleased to meet you. I'm Executive Assistant Ross."
Noah responded politely.
He then turned to Adrian.
"The foreign cooperation documents are ready."
He pulled out the top folder.
The three walked side by side into the lobby.
Adrian reviewed the files.
Noah continued his report.
"The new quarter's jewelry design proposals also need your approval."
Anna followed silently.
Her high heels clicked against the marble floor.
Producing a crisp, clear sound.
