Chapter 350

Adrian Sinclair's eyes turned cold.

He stood and closed the distance behind her, his voice low. "Are you adjusting well to working downstairs?"

Anna Ross's heart jumped. Her fingers curled slightly. "It's fine. It's more relaxed than upstairs. No need for your concern, Mr. Sinclair."

Adrian's fist clenched. His gaze locked onto her stubborn back as if trying to see right through her.

The air grew still for a moment. Anna turned to leave.

"Are you with Lucas Evans?" The words burst out. He immediately pressed his lips together in annoyance.

Anna frowned, finding him utterly unreasonable.

She turned back coldly, meeting his eyes. "Who I'm with is none of your business. You, however, Mr. Sinclair, are reportedly about to get engaged. Perhaps you should spend more time with your fiancรฉe and less time concerning yourself with trivial matters."

"Who said that?"

Rage flashed in Adrian's eyes. He grabbed her wrist. "Who told you I'm getting engaged? And how do you explain you and Lucas!"

Anna winced in pain and struggled, but his grip only tightened. They stood in a silent standoff, neither willing to yield.

A sharp pain shot through her wrist. Anna finally raised her voice. "Are you insane? Do I need to report my relationships to you?"

A dark shadow crossed Adrian's gaze. He suddenly cupped her face and kissed her fiercely.

How dare she say it was none of his business? Every time he saw her with someone else, it felt like his heart was being crushed.

Right now, he didn't want to think. He just wanted to devour this disobedient prey.

Anna's eyes widened in shock. She pushed against him with all her strength, but it was useless.

Her heartbeat spiraled out of control. A strange thrill washed over her, threatening to consume her.

His hair brushed against her cheek, the faint tickle a ghost of the past. But everything had changed.

Footsteps echoed faintly outside the door. Anna mustered all her force and shoved him away.

Adrian stumbled back two steps, his breathing ragged.

Anna scrubbed at her lips, her eyes reddening. "What was that? You have someone else. Why are you still bothering me?"

A slight tremble hid in her voice.

Adrian froze, regret flickering in his eyes. He opened his mouth but remained silent.

"A man in your position can have any woman he wants, Mr. Sinclair. Please treat your fiancรฉe well. Stop็บ ็ผ  with me."

Anna wiped the corner of her mouth. She pulled the door open and left without looking back. Someone happened to be passing by outside.

Adrian stood alone in the room. The setting sun stretched his shadow long and solitary.
