Chapter 46

Silence filled the car.

Anna Ross finally relaxed her tense nerves.

It seemed he had genuinely come to help.

"About last night, thank you."

She wasn't sure if he had seen her text, but saying it in person felt more sincere.

"Didn't you already message me last night?" Adrian Sinclair's voice was lazy.

Anna froze for a second.

So he had seen it.

He just couldn't be bothered to reply.

That was perfectly in line with his usual style.

Getting his help was already a blessing. She shouldn't expect anything more.

She pressed her lips together and said nothing more.

She was afraid one more word might start another argument.

The car came to a slow stop.

Thinking they had arrived, Anna politely thanked him and got out to get her luggage.

She stopped dead in her tracks the moment she turned around.

This was definitely not Bay Area.

A majestic villa stood before her.

She instinctively took half a step back.

What was he doing?

Adrian was suddenly standing right behind her.

His low voice brushed past her ear. "This is the place I prepared for you."

"You'll live here from now on."

His warm breath made her quickly step away.

"No, thank you." She refused outright. "I've already found a place to stay."

She turned to leave immediately.

There was no way she was moving into his territory.

Adrian's face darkened. He took a long stride and grabbed her arm.

"You used me to move out. Now you'll do as I say." His voice was laced with displeasure. "Two choices: live here, or go back."

"Your decision."

Anna pressed her lips together tightly.

If she had to choose, she would rather go back to the Lowell family.

She struggled to break free from his grip and turned away resolutely.

Adrian's expression turned completely cold.

......

"Adrian!"

A sweet female voice suddenly called out.

Anna's steps faltered.

Chloe Valentine was running happily toward Adrian.

So she lived here too.

Was he making her move here just to humiliate her?

Anna laughed coldly inside.

She really shouldn't have expected anything from him.

Adrian saw Chloe and merely offered a faint smile.

His deep gaze, however, remained fixed on Anna.

Chloe, completely oblivious to his mood, was overjoyed. "Adrian, it's been so long!"

"I've missed you so much!"

She soon looked puzzled. "What are you doing here?"

Anna frowned unconsciously.

She didn't understand why she had stopped to listen to their conversation.

She picked up her suitcase again, ready to leave.

Before Adrian could answer, Chloe's eyes landed on Anna.

She looked down her nose at this secretary Adrian always ordered around.

Seeing the suitcase, a sudden realization dawned on her.

She looked at Adrian, ecstatic. "Adrian, are you moving in here!?"
