Chapter 264
Anna Ross looked up at him.
Her thoughts were a tangled mess.
She couldn't understand why he would say something so impulsive.
Adrian Sinclair's lips curved into a faint smile.
It was as if he had heard the most absurd thing.
His words carried a hint of gritted teeth. "Mr. Evans, what makes you think I would agree to let you take her away?"
"Whether you agree or not, I am taking her. She won't have to suffer your torment and threats anymore." Lucas Evans raised his voice, his gaze shifting to Anna.
Adrian didn't look at her. He simply sat in silence.
Chloe Valentine glanced at his straight back.
She then looked at Lucas, her tone firm. "Mr. Evans, this joke isn't funny."
"Anna, I'm serious. I will take you away." Lucas grew anxious because of her reaction, almost standing up.
Adrian closed his eyes lightly.
He rested one hand on the back of the chair, leaning lazily against it.
He waited for them to finish speaking.
Anna felt a wave of powerlessness.
She wasn't worth him doing this. "I won't go with you. Please remember the cooperation matter."
She thought she had made herself clear.
But Lucas seemed completely unconcerned about the cooperation.
He just stared intently at her.
"Anna, don't you understand? None of this matters. I don't want to see you threatened and hurt by him anymore." He stood up, speaking solemnly. "Come with me. I'll take you away from here."
Adrian's eyes darkened instantly.
He curled his lips, his voice turning cold. "It seems Mr. Evans isn't here to discuss cooperation today."
His slender fingers flipped through the documents on the table.
The papers rustled under the gaze of both of them. "I was prepared to discuss cooperation properly today. But your mind seems entirely focused on my Executive Assistant. Our cooperation ends here."
Anna hurried forward a few steps, but didn't dare get too close.
She pressed her lips together. "Please calm down. I won't go with him. Cooperation isn't a joke. How can you cancel it so easily?"
Given his current status, if Lucas's cooperation with him was canceled, many would likely avoid Evans Corporation.
After all, no one wanted to offend someone like him.
"Executive Assistant Ross, you're just an Executive Assistant. Do you think your words can influence my decision?" Adrian was seething with anger.
He was angry that she always took the side of outsiders.
His heart ached as if pierced by countless needles.
A wave of irritable jealousy surged through him.
Anna was frantic, not knowing what to do.
Lucas, however, said carelessly, "Anna, don't beg him. What does it matter if we don't discuss this cooperation?"
"Lucas..." Anna sighed helplessly. "Why must you do this?"
Adrian stood up,ๆฐๅฅฝ blocking their line of sight.
His jaw was tight, his eyes frighteningly cold.
From this angle, Anna could see his rigid profile.
After a moment, he said lightly, "We have no relationship now. Mr. Evans, you may leave."
Lucas was unwilling, seeming like he was about to charge forward.
Anna quickly stepped forward.
She reminded him calmly. "Mr. Evans, our relationship hasn't reached that level. Please don't say anything about taking me away anymore. You should go."
