Chapter 344
Normally, he would have strode forward briskly.
But now, his steps were heavy.
Each step felt like trudging through mud.
Anna Ross remained unaware of the gaze from afar.
When she looked up, Adrian Sinclair's figure had already vanished.
After work, Anna headed to the bar as usual.
She had just entered when the owner pulled her into a corner.
Anna looked somewhat bewildered.
The owner glanced toward the booth area.
She lowered her voice. "Anna, you've worked here for so long. How have I treated you?"
Anna paused for a moment.
She answered sincerely. "Pamela, you've always taken good care of me. I like it here too."
Upon hearing this, the owner breathed a sigh of relief.
She patted her chest.
"Pamela, is someone looking for me again?" Anna recalled the incident with Julian Garnache.
The owner sighed. "That mysterious guest is here again. He specifically asked to see you."
"This time, he didn't cover his face. He seems like a big shot."
Anna followed her gaze.
A man in a tailored suit sat in the booth.
His profile looked somewhat familiar.
It was only when she got closer that she recognized him as Leon Castillo.
A former business partner of the Lowell Corporation.
Leon stood up with a smile.
He greeted her like a gentleman. "Miss Ross, it's been a long time."
Anna responded politely.
But her mind was full of questions.
"Please, have a seat, Miss Ross." Leon offered her a drink.
Anna accepted it with thanks.
But she did not drink.
"Mr. Castillo, is there something you need?" she asked directly.
Aside from their meeting at the company, they had no other connection.
Leon smiled.
He took a sip of his drink before speaking. "I admire you, Miss Ross."
Anna's expression shifted slightly.
Leon quickly explained. "Don't misunderstand. I admire your talent."
"I come to this bar often. Your singing truly moves me."
He looked toward the stage.
He continued. "This stage is too small."
"With your ability, you deserve a much bigger platform."
Anna took a small sip of her drink.
Her gaze fell on the noisy stage.
"Who can predict the future?" she said softly.
"Perhaps stepping onto a big stage would only lead to disappointment."
Leon's smile faltered slightly.
After a moment of silence, he spoke earnestly. "True talent will always shine."
"You already radiate brilliance. Don't you want to soar even higher?"
