Chapter 470
Sophia Roscente immediately pouted.
"I didn't say anything."
Marcus Hill held her hand tightly.
Seizing the moment her tears stopped, he hurried to explain.
"Sophia, you blocked me."
"I couldn't call you. You didn't reply to my messages."
"I was really scared."
Sophia looked up at him.
Her lips parted slightly, but no words came out.
"My family did arrange a blind date."
"But I refused."
"I told them I have a girlfriend." Marcus spoke with sincerity.
Sophia's gaze softened.
Her voice was gentle. "Really?"
Marcus chuckled affectionately.
He gently pinched her cheek.
"Of course it's true."
"I'll take you home to meet them when the time is right."
"Ah! No!" Sophia covered her face.
The tips of her ears turned pink with embarrassment.
"Why not?"
"You're the only one I'll ever love."
"And the only one I'll ever marry."
Marcus pulled her into his arms.
Completely ignoring the two other people sitting nearby.
The room's atmosphere grew subtly.
Anna Ross reached for the book she had been reading earlier.
She found it half trapped under Adrian Sinclair.
She quietly withdrew her hand.
Looking up, she met his gaze.
Her face flushed crimson instantly.
She stammered, "Um, I, I wanted that book."
She pointed at the book under him, feeling extremely uncomfortable.
Adrian glanced down.
He pulled the book out and handed it to her.
"Thank you." She took it quickly.
She turned and moved away, not daring to look at him.
"......" Adrian watched her flustered retreat.
The corner of his mouth lifted involuntarily.
Sophia leaned against her boyfriend.
Watching the pair, she suddenly found her own boyfriend less interesting.
Watching her cousin and Anna was far more exciting.
"Anna, I'm hungry." She rubbed her stomach.
She blinked her big eyes at Anna.
Anna felt flustered under her gaze.
She glanced at the man beside Sophia. "Maybe you should go downstairs to eat?"
Sophia immediately pinched Marcus.
Understanding her hint, he spoke through the pain. "Sophia's still upset. Maybe we could eat here?"
Anna sighed and went to check the kitchen.
Fortunately, there were some vegetables and pasta.
They could make do with noodles. She was hungry too.
She took out the ingredients and tied on an apron.
"Need any help?" Adrian leaned against the doorframe.
His tall figure completely blocked the doorway.
Anna didn't want to be alone with him.
Just as she was about to refuse, he walked in and picked up some eggs.
Outside the kitchen, the other two watched him enter, covering their mouths to stifle giggles.
Anna felt the air in the kitchen grow thin.
Her movements became clumsy. She struggled to chop the vegetables.
With a clatter, a tomato rolled away.
She winced and put down the knife. Blood dripped from her finger.
"Why are you so careless?" Adrian put down the bowl.
He took her hand to examine it, his frown deepening.
Anna tried to pull her hand back. "It's, it's nothing. Just a small cut."
He looked at her with blame.
He led her out of the kitchen. "Where are the Band-Aids?"
