Chapter 0081

I mind-link her to meet me.

She hesitates at first, which is unusual for her. But she appears moments later. She seems pleased by the blood stains on my shirt.

โ€œYou wanted to see me?โ€

โ€œIโ€™ve been thinking about what you said.โ€

โ€œOh?โ€ She flutters her eyelashes. โ€œHave you realized she isnโ€™t the one for you?โ€

โ€œIโ€™ve thought about many things since you returned.โ€

Her fingers immediately go to her hair, twisting a strand as she focuses on me. โ€œI knew it, Alexander. I knew she wouldnโ€™t be enough. I knew you only pitied her.โ€

โ€œBut thatโ€™s the problem, isnโ€™t it? Iโ€™m mated to her. I canโ€™t do anything with you while bound to her. I canโ€™t kiss you. I canโ€™t taste your skin. I canโ€™t claim you. And I definitely canโ€™t fuck you.โ€

Her brow furrows slightly. โ€œIsnโ€™t she dead?โ€

โ€œHow would you know that, Genevieve?โ€

โ€œLOL.โ€

โ€œSo itโ€™s acceptable for you to stutter, but not for Athena?โ€ I had heard Athenaโ€™s thoughts during their encounter.

Her eyes widen as she tries to retreat.

โ€œNot this time.โ€ I seize her shoulders, holding her firmly. โ€œI warned you. Desperation doesnโ€™t suit you. I told you to stay away from Athena.โ€

โ€œYou owe me!โ€

โ€œNo. Not anymore.โ€

I lift her off the ground. She kicks and screams, struggling against my grip. โ€œAlexander, please. I did this for us.โ€

โ€œThere is no us. If you had stayed away, I wouldnโ€™t be taking you to fight for your life.โ€

โ€œPlease, no. We protect our ownโ€”she isnโ€™t one of us!โ€ she shrieks.

โ€œLike you said, Genevieve. You needed a pack. We didnโ€™t need you.โ€

I drop her at the forestโ€™s edge. Many of my people have already shifted into wolves. They wait eagerly.

โ€œNo, please, Alexander.โ€

โ€œYou made Athena suffer. Itโ€™s only fair you suffer too.โ€

Tears stream down her face. โ€œIโ€™m sorry. I wonโ€™t do it again. Iโ€™ll leave. Please!โ€

โ€œRun!โ€

I step back, removing my shirt. I watch her turn slowly toward the forest. โ€œYou have thirty seconds.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m sorry.โ€

The others growl at her. They dig their paws into the soil, crouching low, ready to attack.

She backs into the forest.

She runs as fast as she can. I hear her gasping as she moves. She doesnโ€™t shift. She stays on two feet. She likely knows thereโ€™s no hope of escape.

I shift into my wolf. I pace before the others. They were chosen for this hunt because theyโ€™ll be on duty during the pack run, guarding Athena.

I give the signal.

They charge ahead of me, quickly picking up Genevieveโ€™s scent. Their powerful legs cover the uneven ground. They turn swiftly when her scent changes direction.

I can still hear her. I already know she wonโ€™t get far.

Iโ€™m quickly linkedโ€”sheโ€™s surrounded.

I hear her begging them as I approach.

Piece by piece. Titan growls.

Genevieveโ€™s face is stained with tears. Mud clings to her blonde hair, suggesting she fell. Her eyes dart between us as she pleads for her life. It changes nothing. Her fate is sealed.

I give the wolves the signal.

They lunge at her like sheโ€™s prey. Her screams fill the forest as they tear flesh from bone. Her cries soon fall silent. Her heart stops. Her eyes remain wide open as they continue tearing her apart.

I hope in her final moments, she felt the pain she inflicted on Athena.
