Chapter 0479
Cooper fought them with everything he had.
I heard the sickening pop of his knee joints giving way.
Then his hips followed with another crunch.
His scream echoed as his shoulders were violently dislocated.
The Wolves released him abruptly.
He collapsed onto the ground, moaning in agony.
After a few moments, his injuries began to heal themselves.
"Toes!" I commanded sharply.
Two Lycans immediately stepped forward, replacing the Wolves.
They sank their claws deep into his toes.
Several digits were ripped clean off.
He screamed again, bolting upright to clutch his ankles.
Blood gushed from the stumps on his feet.
Only a couple of toes remained on each foot.
"You had the chance to walk away, Cooper. The moment you discovered Blair was a half-sibling to the Alpha, you should have vanished. You should have gone home and never returned."
"You'll pay for this!" he yelled at me, his voice raw.
"Who exactly do you think will believe you? Look around. Do you honestly believe there's any life left for you after this? There's only one way this hunt ends."
He glared with pure hatred.
"Saving people, or whatever you call this, is worse than cruelty. You claim to do the Moon Goddess's work. Then tell me, why would she want this done to her own creations?"
I waited for a response.
None came.
"Just as I thought. You use it as an excuse. Everything you say is an excuse in some form. You hate lies, yet your entire existence is built on one. Do you even know your own truth?"
"Cunt!" he spat at me.
The others growled menacingly.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Brax arrive with an axe.
"Take off his foot," I instructed him.
"Happily." Brax stepped forward, taking my position.
He dropped a backpack onto the ground.
"Hold him!" he ordered a couple of others.
Two Lycans pinned Cooper down firmly.
Brax grinned at him. "This will hurt. I made sure the blade was blunt just for this occasion. This is for Madison."
He swung the axe down hard, just above Cooper's right ankle.
The axe barely cut through to the bone.
Cooper released a blood-curdling scream.
It took five brutal swings to completely remove the foot.
Brax bent down and picked up the severed foot.
He turned to face me and Neah with a smile.
Splatters of blood covered his face and body.
He may not have delivered the final blow, but he seemed satisfied.
Cooper passed out from the pain, shock, or blood loss.
I didn't care.
I would wait for him to wake up.
The torture would continue.
Brax casually pulled a pair of shorts from the backpack.
He handed them to me. "We don't all need to see what you're packing."
I rolled my eyes but took them.
Cooper began to stir.
Moving over to my mate, I smiled at her. "Your turn."
She stepped forward and grabbed him by the leg without the foot.
Dragging him across the ground, Neah yanked him up until he dangled upside down.
She inspected the wound carefully.
Very slowly, she slid a single claw beneath the surface of the skin.
Cooper's screams filled the forest.
It only energized everyone present.
Everyone here wanted a piece of him.
Neah's claw circled the entire leg, slicing deep as if using a knife.
She began to peel the flesh back from the muscle.
She rolled it down like a sleeve.
Pausing occasionally to slice off any attachments.
"STOP! PLEASE STOP!" he screamed out.
"I bet that's what they all said to you, wasn't it?" I asked as Neah continued.
"Just kill me," he begged.
"There's plenty of time for that. You've still got all your fingers."
He vomited as Neah reached the kneecap.
She stopped and dropped him.
His skin remained rolled up around his knee, muscle exposed.
He vomited again upon seeing his leg.
"You live by the motto that there's always someone worse. Well, you found us. You should be careful. You never truly know people."
Neah stood over him and ripped his tee open.
Her claws sliced down his chest.
With one swift movement, she ripped the skin back, exposing everything beneath.
Cooper couldn't speak even if he tried.
His eyes rolled back, and he passed out again.
'They can rip him apart now,' Neah linked me.
I waved everyone forward as Neah stepped back beside me.
Teeth and claws sank into his flesh as everyone fought for a piece.
Within seconds, his arms and legs were torn from his torso.
Cooper's eyes opened for a brief second.
He let out a gargled scream.
A very large Lycan ripped his head from his torso.
It took me a moment to realize it was Samara.
Pieces of flesh scattered the clearing.
Everyone and everything was drenched in his blood.
The group parted for Neah.
She moved to the remains of his torso.
She plunged her claws into his chest and pulled out the heart.
Holding it in her hand, she stared at it for a while.
Then she closed her fingers around it and squeezed until it exploded.
