Chapter 0466
He watches me closely. "What's your plan?"
"Tear him apart." I show him my claws.
'Rip him open.' Nyx adds with dark excitement.
"Only if I don't get to him first." He gives me a sharp smile. "That bastard is systematically dismantling my pack right before my eyes. No one has ever managed that. We were always solid, united. But now..." He shakes his head, frustration evident. "I won't allow it to continue."
'Levi Bennett won't survive the week.' Nyx whispers. 'Alexander didn't object to our plan.'

The twins slept between us in Brianna and Sebastian's guest room. Both were in human form, breathing softly. My brief absence had made my heart ache with longing. Just watching them filled me with overwhelming emotion.
"Once the house is rebuilt, we'll need a larger bed. Especially when we have more pups."
"Excuse me!" I whisper, careful not to disturb the boys. "One pup, not multiple!"
He smiles warmly. "One, two, even three. I don't care, as long as you and they are healthy." He leans over our sons to kiss my cheek. Why does he keep saying 'they'? I silently ask Nyx if she's hiding something.
'Too soon to tell.' she murmurs. 'Focus on the immediate threat.'
I woke multiple times to a small foot in my face or tiny fingers poking my nose. For such little boys, they moved constantly in their sleep.
Eventually I rose and settled into the rocking chair Brianna had provided. The twins wiggled onto Alexander's chest. While I adored watching them, my thoughts drifted to Levi Bennett's impending death. I refused to let him destroy more lives. I would never let him near my children.
Quietly I changed into jeans and a hoodie. Pulling on my boots, I slipped outside and headed to Theodore's place. Lights still glowed inside. Through the window I saw him at the table where he'd taught me to read for countless hours.
I tapped on the glass. His deep green eyes lifted to meet mine. "Athena?" He checked his watch. "Is something wrong?"
"Levi Bennett needs to die."
"If this is about the Witch Hunter theory again, I think Luc might have been onto something." He gestures me inside, closing the door quietly.
"We've all been doubtful about Luc lately, right?" He continues.
I nod. "But apparently it's resolved. It's complicated-"
"He told me everything."
"He told you?" I whisper in surprise. I'd had to pressure him for information.
"Yes. He showed me that little sphere. Told me about Hannah."
"Do you know what it was?"
"No. But even without Luc's explanation, I recognized the owner's scent. I don't know how, but when Luc handed it to me, I could smell him."
"Like a mate's scent?"
"Not exactly."
"I don't understand." I frown.
"Neither do I." He gestures to the open books surrounding him. "That's why I'm researching. Trying to find answers about what I truly am. Much of it makes sense even without reading."
"Like Luc, I'm different. I don't crave belonging. I'm not a true pack wolf, though I love this pack. I'll fulfill my duties, but now I understand why I never fit in, even before being accepted here. I was never meant to be a pack member. This might surprise you, but once Levi is dead, I'll be leaving to find my own path."
