Chapter 0415
Theodore
'Damn it, Theodore. Where the hell are you?' Hearing Alexander's voice again was a relief.
'I'm with Levi. I had to go with him. It was the only way to ensure he wouldn't harm anyone else.'
'Are you alright? Are you injured?'
'He hasn't hurt me. He drugged me, but it's worn off now.'
'Where are you?'
'He brought me to Seraphina's house. Don't come here. It's too dangerous.'
'Why not?' He asks. 'I can bring enough people. We'll get in and out quickly.'
'He's expecting that. I don't know what else he's capable of.'
A loud snore comes from the chair in the corner. I watch Levi silently, fully expecting him to wake up any second.
'Theodore?'
'He's half Witch, half Lycan. He's drugging people with something he created. Evelyn was his first test subject. He got the dosage wrong, and she hasn't been the same since.'
'It's worn off. He'll probably figure it out soon.' Alexander tells me.
'He already knows.'
'We can use that to our advantage.' He doesn't elaborate further, and I decide it's better not to know.
'What about Hannah and Seraphina?'
'No change.'
'I need you to do something for me.' I speak faster, knowing Levi will wake up any moment.
'Theodore, we need to get you out of there.'
'Not yet,' I mutter, seeing Levi stir. 'Let me get what I can from him first. But I need you to ask Seraphina what scent Levi was giving off when he tricked her into thinking they were mated.'
There's a pause. 'You think you're mated to him?'
'He has a mark on his chest. Claims that Witches are left with the mark of their mate's initials.'
'And?'
'TD' I mutter.
'Your surname is Anderson.'
'My adopted name.' I reply quietly.
Silence again. I knew this news wouldn't be well received. 'Remind me, what was your birth parents' surname?'
'Daudet.'
'Theodore....'
'I won't accept him.' I say hurriedly as Levi starts making more noises. I can't accept someone who thinks it's okay to strip others of their abilities. Not after what my parents did to me. Not after seeing Athena and Hannah struggle. I just need to know if it's a trick or not before I reject him. I want to break him. I have to go, he's waking up.'
I end the link and focus on the rising sun. Keeping my gaze away from Levi. He stopped asking about my birth name after he realized he could link with Evelyn. Whatever she told him made him angry enough to trash the house.
He's a madman with two personalities. If I want to make it back home, I need to play along to some extent.
Levi yawns. "You're already awake."
"Early riser." I mutter back. "I like watching the sunrise."
"I'm surprised your Alpha isn't here, knocking down the door. I know you can link him. I know you're a full Wolf again. So either you have and told him not to come, or you haven't because you can't resist the bond with me."
"Do you always think so highly of yourself?" I glance at him to find him staring intently.
"Yes. Yes I do."
I roll my eyes and turn back to the sunrise as pink hues fill the sky.
"So is today going to be the day you give me your birth name?"
"You're so smart, maybe you should figure it out yourself."
"I'm going to cook you breakfast this morning." He announces, changing the subject.
"Not hungry." I mumble, though my stomach protests with loud growls.
He places a hand against his chest, pretending to be hurt. "But it's my special pancakes. Everyone loves them."
I highly doubt anything here will be edible. Seraphina and Evelyn have been in the pack for ages. Anything you find is probably spoiled."
"Lucky for you, I went out while you were asleep."
