Chapter 0050

โ€œYou know how much I enjoy provoking your sister. She never changes. Iโ€™m sure it infuriates Gabriel.โ€

She had no idea. She wasnโ€™t there to learn that Isabella and Gabriel were over.

โ€œSheโ€™s content.โ€ I lie.

Genevieve stays silent. Sheโ€™s staring up at the house. I glance over my shoulder. Athena stands on the doorstep. Isabella and Sebastian flank her.

โ€œIs that her?โ€ Genevieve whispers.

โ€œYes.โ€

She grabs my upper arm. โ€œSheโ€™s not much to look at, is she!โ€

โ€œRelease me.โ€

โ€œDo you think she can defeat me?โ€ She wonders aloud.

That wasnโ€™t my concern. I could feel Athenaโ€™s jealousy from here. If she shifts, I canโ€™t stop it. Isabella and Sebastian canโ€™t stop it. None of us know what Athena is truly capable of.

I seize Genevieveโ€™s hand, bending it back toward her wrist. She whimpers in pain as her arm twists.

โ€œLeave my sight!โ€ I snarl.

โ€œIโ€™m going. Iโ€™m going.โ€ She glares toward Athena before stomping off, cradling her arm.

My eyes lock with Athenaโ€™s as I approach the house.

โ€œIs she leaving?โ€ Isabella asks.

โ€œNo.โ€ I mutter without turning. โ€œSheโ€™s decided to stay.โ€

Athena doesnโ€™t react. She stands completely still, her gaze fixed on mine. She didnโ€™t seem angry, just confused by the jealousy she felt.

โ€œYouโ€™re allowing her to stay?โ€ Isabella challenges me. โ€œAfter everything sheโ€™s done. Sheโ€™s insane.โ€

โ€œYes, I agree her choices have been poor. But none of us are entirely innocent. Well, almost none. If she tries anything, sheโ€™s gone. I warned her.โ€

Still, Athena says nothing.

Isabella brushes past me. โ€œI hope you know what youโ€™re doing, Alexander. Donโ€™t let her destroy this.โ€

โ€œGo inside.โ€ I tell Athena. โ€œI need to speak with Sebastian.โ€

Athenaโ€™s blue eyes shift to my Beta before returning to me. She nods slowly and retreats into the house.

โ€œHow much did Isabella tell her?โ€

โ€œEverything.โ€ Sebastian murmurs. โ€œOnce she started talking, she couldnโ€™t stop.โ€

โ€œAnd what did Athena say?โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s just it. She didnโ€™t say anything.โ€

โ€œNothing?โ€

โ€œHer last question was whether Genevieve came here to kill her. Thatโ€™s when Isabella told her everything.โ€

โ€œAny sign of her shifting?โ€

โ€œNo. I watched her closely.โ€

I find Athena sitting in the kitchen. Her legs are tucked beneath her as she studies a half-empty juice bottle.

She doesnโ€™t react or acknowledge me as I sit opposite. Her mind was clouded, scolding herself.

โ€œYouโ€™ve never felt jealousy before.โ€

I tell her. โ€œIt feels strange, right? Having this urge to attack someone?โ€

She stops spinning the bottle. Her blue eyes flash up at me. โ€œWhy?โ€

โ€œBecause of that.โ€ I point to the mark on her neck. โ€œIt will make you feel many things youโ€™ve likely never experienced. Sebastian told me Isabella explained everything about Genevieve.โ€

โ€œShe told meโ€ฆ a lot.โ€ She stutters, a small crease forming on her forehead. โ€œSheโ€™sโ€ฆ very beautiful.โ€

She is furious. Titan mutters.

โ€œSheโ€™s not you.โ€ I tell her.

โ€œDid youโ€ฆ did you tell her about me?โ€

โ€œI told her I claimed you. I told her youโ€™re my true mate.โ€

She frowns at me. โ€œThereโ€™s something I donโ€™t understand. Isabella didnโ€™t say.โ€

โ€œYou want to know why I let her live.โ€
