Chapter 0431
Theodore
โThatโs all he said?โ Levi questioned.
โYes. He expects us there by six tomorrow morning. Or your sister dies. Heโs waiting for confirmation.โ
He paced back and forth, restless. โImpressive, Theodore. You woke me just to say that. Couldโve stayed quiet. Let him kill Evelyn.โ
โHe ordered me to tell you. He is my Alpha. I obeyed.โ
โRight. But he wouldnโt have known if you kept it secret. As your mate, I think youโre trying to make me happy. Telling the truth. You know I want Evelyn back.โ He winked. โBut what does your Alpha really want? You, I assume. Youโre valuable to him.โ He ran a hand through his short blonde hair. โNever had to choose before. My sister or my mate? Difficult.โ
โI am not your mate. I gave you my birth name.โ
โTheodore, you lie. Not good.โ He checked the chains on my wrists. โTell your Alpha Iโll be there.โ
โHe wonโt hand over Evelyn if Iโm not with you.โ
โYes, he will.โ Confidence radiated from him. His eyes glowed. โIf he knows whatโs good for him.โ
โYou donโt know Alexander like I do. Heโll see Iโm not there and tear her apart. Iโve seen it happen.โ
โThen heโll face my wrath. You might not believe it, but I love my sister. Even though sheโs difficult. Iโll do anything to keep her alive.โ
โYouโve done nothing while she rots in a dungeon.โ I muttered, frustrated. Heโd given me nothing but coded answers.
He squatted before me, leaning close. His breath was stale. He needed to brush his teeth. โBut sheโs safe there. Everyone is safe while sheโs locked up. It would be a bloodbath if she got out.โ He stood. โTell your Alpha weโll be there. Iโll decide when everything is revealed.โ
I linked Alexander and confirmed.
โYou keep saying sheโs safe in the dungeon. What does that mean? Why no hurry to get her out? Why a bloodbath? You think she can kill everyone?โ
โNo need to hurry when I know where she is.โ He didnโt elaborate. Odd. I didnโt buy it. I needed to know why Evelyn was safer inside. And why everyone else was, too.
โSheโs a Lycan. You confirmed it. She confirmed it.โ
โYes.โ
โIs she a weapon?โ
He smiled. โDonโt worry, Theodore. Iโll keep you safe. She wonโt hurt you. She wonโt be allowed to.โ
Allowed? He thought he was powerful enough to stop her.
โAre you afraid of her? Is that why you blocked her abilities? You said it was because she touched your things. I donโt believe that. Youโre hiding something.โ
โSo curious. All will be revealed in time. Get some sleep. Early start tomorrow.โ
โI canโt sleep with your riddles. Is my pack in danger?โ
โHavenโt decided.โ
โYou decide? You said Evelyn could cause a bloodbath.โ
He smiled. His wide sage green eyes looked unhinged. Why would the Moon Goddess think he was my match?
โWho are you after?โ I pushed. No answer. โI could tell Alexander to kill her!โ
He grabbed my face roughly, lifting me off the floor. Strength surprised me. โYou will do no such thing. Understand!โ
He dropped me with a thud and strode out. He returned with a syringe. โBetter yet, letโs make sure you canโt!โ
Levi stabbed the needle into my neck before I could react. Instantly, weakness washed over me. My senses faded. I tried to link Alexander. Nothing.
โAnother reason Iโm glad Iโm not your mate!โ I spat.
A sharp, painful slap hit my face. It burned. A red handprint marked my skin. One that wouldnโt heal for days.
