Chapter 0033

โ€œWhat the hell is a Lycan?โ€ Sebastian demanded sharply.

โ€œExactly what you witnessed. Half wolf, half human.โ€ His blue eyes locked onto mine. โ€œDid you get her out safely?โ€

โ€œWhat do you mean, true brother?โ€ I pressed.

โ€œAthena only has one brother, and Dominic isnโ€™t him.โ€

โ€œStop lying to me!โ€

โ€œIโ€™ll explain everything.โ€ He extended his arms in a placating gesture.

โ€œYouโ€™d be the first.โ€ I snapped, my patience thinning.

โ€œIโ€™m not loyal to Silver Creek. Iโ€™m a Rogue.โ€ Devon stated calmly.

โ€˜Heโ€™s completely insane!โ€™ Sebastian linked me.

โ€œRogue?โ€ That term wasnโ€™t used among wolves. You either belonged to a pack or you didnโ€™t.

โ€œRejected by my pack.โ€ Devon muttered, completely unfazed.

โ€œAssuming youโ€™re telling the truth. How does Athena not recognize you?โ€

โ€œThe same way she believes Dominic is her older brother.โ€

โ€˜I canโ€™t tell if heโ€™s lying.โ€™ Titan murmured.

Devon pointed to his eyes. โ€œOur eyes. Theyโ€™re identical, inherited from our mother and her lineage.โ€

โ€œAnyone can have similar eyes.โ€ I countered.

โ€œYouโ€™re right, they can. But what color were Dominicโ€™s eyes?โ€ He smirked. โ€œWhy would I bother telling you this?โ€

โ€œTo buy yourself time!โ€ I snapped.

โ€˜Iโ€™m locked in a dungeon. Iโ€™m not going anywhere.โ€™ He said sarcastically.

โ€œLet me get this straight. Youโ€™re something called a Lycan. A man who claims to be Athenaโ€™s younger brother. Someone she doesnโ€™t know. And Dominic isnโ€™t related to her?โ€

โ€œAlmost correct. I didnโ€™t say he wasnโ€™t related. I said he wasnโ€™t her brother!โ€

โ€œThen who is he?โ€

โ€œOur uncle!โ€

โ€˜So she is an Alpha.โ€™ Titan murmured in shock. โ€˜Being bound twice wasnโ€™t just because she carries powerful blood. Sheโ€™s an Alpha by birthright. The firstborn.โ€™

โ€˜If this is even true.โ€™

โ€œHe didnโ€™t believe the Alpha role should go to a female.โ€ Devon continued. โ€œHe posed as an older brother due to the significant age gap with our father. The pack supported him.โ€

โ€œHow do you know all this?โ€

โ€œI had an insider.โ€

โ€œHad?โ€

โ€œThey came here to verify Athena arrived alive. I believe you killed him.โ€

โ€œHe shouldnโ€™t have attacked my wolves.โ€

โ€œI know. I told him to remain silent and unseen. Clearly, he failed both.โ€

โ€œHow old are you?โ€

โ€œNineteen.โ€

Three years younger than Athena. If her memories were indeed altered, she wouldnโ€™t remember.

โ€œI know you donโ€™t believe me, but you saw me. You saw my Lycan form. My adoptive parents were horrified when I turned thirteen.โ€ He smiled faintly. โ€œBless them.โ€ His blue eyes returned to me. โ€œShe doesnโ€™t know what she is, does she?โ€

He inspected his nails, picking at dried blood.

โ€œWhy didnโ€™t you stop him?โ€

โ€œDominic? I tried, multiple times. They became more cunning. I couldnโ€™t even approach the house.โ€

โ€œThey didnโ€™t kill you?โ€

โ€œOh, they tried.โ€ He exhaled heavily. โ€œPlease tell me sheโ€™s alive. I donโ€™t need to see her. I donโ€™t need to speak to her. I just need to know my sister finally escaped Dominicโ€™s control and is safe.โ€

โ€œShe escaped.โ€ I confirmed.

โ€œIs she safe?โ€

โ€œYes.โ€

โ€œCan we talk?โ€ Sebastian asked, nodding toward the stairs.

โ€œDo you think heโ€™s telling the truth?โ€ Sebastian asked as soon as we were outside.

โ€œIโ€™m not sure.โ€

โ€œHe wouldnโ€™t say two words to me, but the moment you arrived, he told you everything.โ€

โ€œKeep questioning him.โ€ I muttered. โ€œI need to research this Lycan information. No violence.โ€ I warned. โ€œIf he truly is her brother, I donโ€™t want her discovering you beat him to a pulp.โ€

โ€œNo violence.โ€ He confirmed. โ€œAs always.โ€

In my office, Athena was slowly spinning in my desk chair. She didnโ€™t hear me enter and quickly planted her feet on the carpet when she noticed me, stopping the chair.

โ€œLooking for something?โ€ I asked. The urge to tear her clothes off was becoming overwhelming.

She nodded. โ€œYou.โ€

โ€œYou should have had someone link me.โ€

โ€œI could wait. Iโ€™m used to waiting.โ€ She gave me a tight-lipped smile.

โ€œHow can I help you?โ€

โ€œIf I give you your heir, does that mean I can stay?โ€
